Are there many people suffering from vulvar leukoplakia?

Vulvar leukoplakia is a very common gynecological disease in women, and most of the people who suffer from it every year are middle-aged women. Vulvar leukoplakia mainly refers to the lesions of the skin of the female vulva and the abnormal changes in pigmentation. It is a chronic disease caused by long-term chronic stimulation. The editor recommends treatment, but how exactly does one get this disease?

1. Causes of vulvar leukoplakia

1. Endocrine disorders: Endocrine diseases are caused by endocrine disorders due to pathological changes in the body, or due to genetics, enzyme defects, immune function and other reasons. The imbalance between local connective tissue hyperplasia and the stimulation of epidermal metabolism leads to the occurrence of vulvar leukoplakia.

2. Genetics: Genetics only accounts for 20% of the factors that cause vulvar leukoplakia. However, vulvar leukoplakia caused by genetic factors cannot be ignored, because genetically caused vulvar leukoplakia is mainly atrophic type, and most patients are underage girls. Therefore, in clinical practice, patients under the age of fifteen should first be analyzed to see whether there are genetic factors.

3. Gynecological inflammation: In addition to causing various symptoms, gynecological inflammation can also cause local nerve and blood vessel damage, Trichomonas vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, cervical erosion and other inflammations, which can cause increased vaginal secretions and leucorrhea degeneration, long-term irritation to the vulva, and cause vulvar leukoplakia. Therefore, this is one of the causes of leukoplakia on the female vulva.

2. The harm of vulvar leukoplakia

Vulvar leukoplakia is very harmful. Patients with this disease often feel unbearable itching in the vulva, as if a hole is drilled in the heart. The itching is paroxysmal, especially at night, accompanied by burning, dryness and discomfort, which seriously affects sleep. The vulvar skin and mucosa turn white or pink, the surface becomes rough and uneven, with cracks, ulcers, erosions, or becomes hard and loses elasticity, which can cause difficulty in urination. The local skin and mucous membranes become thinner and swollen, and the labia majora and minora shrink or even disappear, making the vaginal opening narrower. This can cause difficulties in sexual life and may also cause difficulties in childbirth, necessitating a cesarean section.

4. Treatment of vulvar leukoplakia

1. Surgical treatment:

Currently, the most common surgical procedures for the treatment of vulvar leukoplakia are simple vulvectomy and vulvectomy combined with skin grafting. This treatment method for vulvar leukoplakia is relatively common.

2. Physical therapy:

Microwave therapy, carbon dioxide laser and helium-neon laser, Bohm light, high-frequency electric knife, local electrocautery therapy and liquid nitrogen local freezing therapy are also treatment methods for vulvar leukoplakia.

In addition to the methods described above, the editor also recommends that you can use traditional Chinese medicine for treatment, eliminate certain toxic effects of Western medicine, regulate the body, and women should pay attention to the daily cleanliness of the vulva to prevent irritation and bacterial infection, which will cause more serious vulva lesions.
