What to do about vaginal itching?

For the majority of female friends, vaginitis is not an unfamiliar disease. Many female friends have suffered from vaginitis. Vaginitis is not terrible, but the vulvar itching caused by vaginitis will cause great distress if it is not cured for a long time, which seriously affects the normal work, study and life of the majority of women. So what should we do about vulvar itching? The editor here would like to give some advice to the majority of female friends.

① You can use 2%~4% sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) solution to rinse the vulva and vagina once a day, 10 times as a course of treatment, in order to create an alkaline environment that is not conducive to the survival of Candida alba.

② After flushing, you can choose 100,000 to 200,000 units of nystatin (powder, suppository or ointment) and insert it into the vagina once a night, for a course of 10 to 14 days; apply 3% clotrimazole ointment to the vulva once a day, which is also very effective.

③ Change underwear frequently. Used underwear, basins and towels should be boiled in boiling water for 30 minutes or soaked in saturated salt water for 1 to 4 hours for disinfection, because Candida has poor resistance to heat and will die in 1 hour if heated to 60℃.

If the disease has not been cured for a long time, you should go to the hospital to check your blood sugar and urine sugar to rule out diabetes; you should also check for Trichomonas infection, because this disease sometimes occurs with Trichomonas vaginitis; those who have been taking large amounts of corticosteroids and broad-spectrum antibiotics for a long time should stop taking the medication; to prevent intestinal Candida infection, you can also take 500,000 to 1 million units of nystatin orally, 3 times a day, for 7 to 10 days as a course of treatment, to eliminate intestinal Candida (because nystatin is not absorbed by the intestine). If other parts of the body are infected by fungi, Sporanox can be taken orally, 100-200 mg each time, twice a day, for 1-3 days; severe cases can take it for 5 days, or even more than 5 days, generally not more than 7 days.

The above are some suggestions the editor gives to female friends regarding vaginal itching. You must pay attention to personal hygiene on a daily basis and change and wash your underwear frequently. Once symptoms of vulvar itching appear, go to the hospital for diagnosis and treatment in time, and take precautions and clean up in the future to avoid recurrence.
