What causes vaginal labia itching?

Sex can make the life of a couple more harmonious and add fun. However, if you experience pain and itching after sex, some of it is normal and may be due to irritant itching. Some may be caused by gynecological diseases or condom incompatibility. So don’t ignore this kind of situation if it happens again. Let’s take a look at the causes of labia itching.

1. Semen allergy

Semen allergy is one of the important reasons for vaginal itching in women after sexual intercourse. The reason for semen allergy is that in addition to sperm, male semen also contains a variety of antigenic substances. If a woman has an allergic constitution, she will have a series of allergic reactions after sexual intercourse. Milder symptoms include itching of the vulva, congestion of the labia and vaginal opening, and urticaria-like skin on the labia. In severe cases, there may even be systemic reactions, such as chest tightness, difficulty breathing, facial flushing, and large areas of urticaria-like skin.

2. Allergy to condoms and topical contraceptive drugs

Condoms and topical contraceptives are both chemical products. Some people may have allergic reactions to condoms or topical contraceptives. —Generally, women experience itching in the vulva and congestion in the vaginal opening and vaginal wall. There is a significant increase in vaginal discharge. Men may experience itching on the glans penis, and in severe cases, the glans penis may even become congested, edematous, and eroded.

3. Leucorrhea allergy

When women are sexually excited, their vaginal discharge increases. The vaginal discharge contains many antigenic substances. If the husband has an allergic constitution, it will cause an allergic reaction, and the symptoms are similar to those of allergic reactions to condoms and topical contraceptives.

4. Vaginitis

If a woman suffers from trichomoniasis or candidal vaginitis, the increased stimulation during sexual intercourse may cause itching of the vulva.

Therefore, if the abnormal itching has only occurred recently and there are no other gynecological diseases, it may be due to the choice of condoms. If you have a lot of vaginal discharge, you may have a gynecological disease. Whatever the cause, it should be addressed promptly to avoid further discomfort.
