What should I do if I have hemorrhoids?

Patients with hemorrhoids know that hemorrhoids are very painful. They have a great impact on everyone's life. The pain is unbearable and it is inconvenient to sit or stand. Hemorrhoids are divided into several types, generally internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids and mixed hemorrhoids. The treatment conditions are also different. Patients with hemorrhoids are advised to seek treatment as soon as possible so that they can get rid of the pain as soon as possible. Let's take a look at the solutions to hemorrhoids.

1. Traditional surgical resection: The method of removing hemorrhoids wherever they are located causes great damage to the anal cushion tissue. Patients suffer great pain, heavy bleeding, and a long course of treatment. Sequelae such as fecal incontinence and anal stenosis often occur.

2. Oral medication, topical medication and plaster therapy: This type of conservative treatment can improve symptoms, but it is slow to take effect and it is difficult to eliminate the lesions completely. Long-term medication is expensive and has side effects on the body.

3. Ligation and band ligation therapy: This is a method to block the blood circulation of hemorrhoids and then let them fall off naturally. However, improper treatment will block the blood circulation in the anus, which may easily cause congestion, edema, pain, difficulty in defecation, etc.

4. Injection therapy: It is a method of treating hemorrhoids by injecting drugs into hemorrhoids. However, after the aseptic inflammatory reaction caused by the drugs disappears, hemorrhoids are prone to recurrence and may also cause severe anal pain, edema or thrombosis.

5. Red coating on hemorrhoids and hemorrhoid nail therapy: Due to the serious toxic and side effects, great pain for patients and long treatment period, it is rarely used in clinical practice now.

Hemorrhoids are a chronic disease in which the venous plexus at the bottom of the anorectum and anal mucosa becomes varicose, forming one or more soft venous masses. Hemorrhoids referred to in medicine include internal hemorrhoids, external hemorrhoids, and mixed hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are the most common anorectal disease. The disease can occur at any age, but the incidence rate increases with age.

Internal hemorrhoids: At first, there will be blood in the stool, the blood will be attached to the surface of the stool, or the toilet paper will be stained with blood. Over time, there will be tumors protruding during bowel movements. In mild cases, the tumors will return to the anus on their own after defecation, but in severe cases, they need to be pushed back in manually. In the early stage, internal hemorrhoids mainly present with painless bloody stools, and other symptoms will only appear in the later stage when it becomes serious.

External hemorrhoids: The hemorrhoid core covers the skin and can be seen with the naked eye, but it cannot be pushed into the anus and will not bleed. The main symptoms are severe pain and a foreign body sensation in the anus.

Mixed hemorrhoids: They have symptoms of both internal and external hemorrhoids, with swelling and pain in the anus. In addition, patients with mixed hemorrhoids have mucus overflowing from the anus, and the surrounding skin often has eczema and itching. Mixed hemorrhoids are the most serious of all hemorrhoids and have the greatest impact on daily life. Drugs cannot completely cure mixed hemorrhoids.

The most prominent similar symptom between hemorrhoids and rectal cancer is blood in the stool. Many people mistake intestinal bleeding for hemorrhoid bleeding, which results in delayed treatment.

The above is the introduction to hemorrhoids that I would like to introduce to you here today. I hope that all patients have understood it in detail. Patients with hemorrhoids must pay more attention, pay attention to their personal hygiene in daily life, and eat less spicy and irritating foods. See a doctor promptly and don't worry too much. I hope the above content is helpful to you.
