If ovulation is delayed, will the due date also be delayed?

After becoming pregnant, women need to calculate the date of delivery so that they can make various preparations in advance. The delivery date of pregnant women is calculated according to the menstrual period. The doctor can know the delivery date based on the expected delivery date of the pregnant woman, and the ovulation period will affect the menstrual period. So, if ovulation is delayed, will delivery also be delayed?

If a woman's ovulation period is delayed, her delivery period will also be delayed. This is because the menstrual period is affected by the ovulation period, and if the ovulation period is delayed, the menstrual period will also come later. When a woman has irregular menstruation, it is difficult to estimate the ovulation period. If pregnant women want to know the exact time of delivery, it is best to ask a doctor to help calculate it.

Some pregnant women can't remember their due date. At this time, they can calculate the due date based on morning sickness. Because pregnant women usually experience their first morning sickness in the 6th week of pregnancy, on this basis, add 250 days to get the delivery date, which is calculated based on the 40-week pregnancy period. However, pregnant women's morning sickness reactions may vary, so there may be some deviations in the calculation of the delivery date.

Generally, the gestational age is calculated as 280 days, and the due date is calculated from the date when the last warning information came into effect to 280 days. In the past, it was generally calculated on a monthly basis. A menstrual period was 28 days, that is, if a month was calculated as 28 days, the delivery date would be October. But now most of them are calculated in weeks, and the delivery date is the 40th week.

Pregnant women can also calculate the expected date of delivery based on the baby's fetal movement. Generally, pregnant women first feel the baby's fetal movement during the 18th to 20th week of pregnancy. If it is the first time for a pregnant woman, she can add 20 weeks to the day of fetal movement to calculate the due date. If a woman is pregnant with her second child, she needs to add 22 weeks.

The normal delivery period, that is, the full delivery period, refers to the three weeks before or two weeks after the delivery period, which is generally referred to as full term. If a baby is born between 24 and 36 weeks of pregnancy, it is considered a premature baby. If a birth occurs later than the normal due date, that is, in week 42 or later, it is called an overdue birth or a past due birth.
