What are the symptoms of large endometrial shedding?

The continuous shedding of the endometrium forms women's menstruation, which is a relatively normal physiological phenomenon. However, if the amount of endometrial shedding increases at the beginning, leading to increased bleeding, the uterus is easily irritated. At this time, women need to pay attention to it and it is best to receive appropriate treatment. So, what are the symptoms of large-scale endometrial shedding? Let’s take a closer look below.

On the first day, the endometrium begins to shed. On the second and third days, the endometrial shedding increases and the amount of bleeding also increases. The uterus is stimulated and its contraction increases, causing a large amount of menstrual blood to be discharged. This is the process of menstruation.

The symptoms of endometrial shedding are that the corpus luteum generally shrinks after 14 days, and the endometrium is shed and menstruation occurs due to lack of support from estrogen and progesterone. Irregular endometrial shedding is caused by incomplete corpus luteum atrophy due to dysfunction of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. The endometrium is continuously affected by progesterone, so it cannot be shed completely as expected.

However, when the endometrium is shed irregularly, the endometrium showing secretory reaction can still be seen on the 5th-6th day of the menstrual period. Because the patient's menstrual period is long, the endometrium loses water, the interstitium becomes dense, the glands shrink, and the glandular cavity becomes plum blossom or star-shaped.

On the 3rd to 4th day of a normal menstrual period, the secretory endometrium has completely shed and is replaced by regenerated proliferative endometrium.

The endometrium showed a mixed type, that is, the residual secretory endometrium coexisted with hemorrhagic necrotic tissue and newly grown endometrium. Experts remind us to pay attention to our diet and daily life, pay attention to physical hygiene, and also to balance our emotions and pay attention to mental hygiene.

The above is an introduction to the symptoms of large-scale endometrial shedding. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. The uterine cavity is a relatively important place, where life is conceived. Although endometrial shedding is normal, the problem is that large-scale endometrial shedding must be given enough attention to avoid unnecessary impact on future fertility.
