Phase 1: 1st month after delivery

The first month after delivery is a period of physical recovery, which is mainly focused on physical conditioning. Also, because new mothers are relatively weak during this period and have to breastfeed their babies, it is not suitable for them to do any intense exercise to lose weight, otherwise it will have a great adverse effect on the body. Even some gentle exercise should be performed two weeks after delivery. The following are recovery exercises suitable for the latter part of the confinement period:

1. Shoulder rotation: Stretch your arms horizontally to both sides, bend your elbows so that your fingertips are placed on your shoulders, then expand your right shoulder backward, your left shoulder forward, and turn your elbows outward. Alternate between the left and right shoulders.

2. Straighten your back and strengthen your chest: Sit on the ground, cross your legs, hold your ankles with your hands, then raise your head, keeping your back straight. Do this for 30 times.

3. Foot exercise: Sit on the mat, put the soles of your feet facing each other, bend the insteps of your feet and bend your toes inward and outward. Put your feet together and straighten them, with your toes pointing forward, and feel your leg muscles tense. After two breaths, relax your legs and then straighten them, alternating between moving your ankles.

The second stage is 2 to 3 months after delivery

In the 2nd to 3rd month after delivery, the body is slowly recovering and low-intensity exercise can be carried out during this period.

Although the confinement period has passed, the body has not yet fully recovered. The most suitable exercise during this period is walking. The exercises performed during the confinement period are all very gentle. Relatively speaking, the walking exercises carried out now will seem more "intense". Therefore, you must control the time and intensity of your walking. You cannot exercise for more than an hour or walk at a very fast pace at the beginning. The correct approach is to only take 5 to 10 minutes of walks for the first few times, and then slowly increase the time. When walking, your arm swings should be coordinated with your breathing and performed rhythmically. In the later stages, you can basically control the walking time to more than 1 hour. Walking for 1 hour a day can consume about 500 calories, so you need to persist every day.
