Female friends who have given birth know that after giving birth, something similar to menstruation will flow out of the female's lower body. This thing is called lochia. Maybe many people feel that it is similar to menstruation, but it is different. It lasts much longer than normal menstruation and the amount is much larger. But how many people know about lochia? Does anyone know how long the lochia usually lasts after a normal caesarean section or delivery? How long does it take for a situation to be considered abnormal for you? Lochia is a sign of how well the uterus recovers, so how long does it take for the lochia to clear after a caesarean section? 1. Under normal circumstances, lochia has a bloody smell, but it is not smelly, the amount does not exceed the menstrual volume, and the color is transparent and shiny, not dark or dirty. It will be clean after about half a month to 20 days. 2. Due to individual differences, the duration of lochia discharge after childbirth is not necessarily the same for each female friend. Under normal circumstances, the lochia will stop about 3 weeks after a woman gives birth. 3. If lochia is still leaking more than 2 months after delivery, it should be considered as lochia retention. Common causes of lochia include infection in the uterine cavity, remnants of pregnancy materials such as placenta, decidua and other tissues in the uterine cavity, and incomplete recovery of the uterus. 4. If the lochia is still not clean one month after the caesarean section, and is accompanied by foul or rancid odors, or abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms, then there may be infections in the uterus, fallopian tubes, vagina, and ovaries; if the amount of lochia discharged increases day by day, the color becomes redder and darker day by day, or some bruises appear, or there is uterine bleeding, vaginal trauma, or infection symptoms, etc., causing the lochia to continue to be unclean, everyone must pay enough attention and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time. If the uterus is not fully involuted after delivery, or there is residual placenta or excessive fetal membranes in the uterine cavity, or there is infection, lochia often increases and lasts longer. When there is infection, it may have a foul odor, and the blood count may increase, accompanied by fever and other clinical symptoms. Pay attention to whether there is any intrauterine operation during delivery and whether the placenta and fetal membranes are intact. If there is persistent bloody lochia, the possibility of trophoblastic tumor or concurrent cervical cancer should be ruled out. The most important thing to pay attention to when lochia does not stop is that the most likely thing to happen is late postpartum hemorrhage or even massive hemorrhage and shock, which endangers the life of the mother. B-ultrasound, blood routine and other related examinations are performed to confirm the diagnosis. It is not just the girls' business to know this knowledge, but also their male significant other should know something about it. Male friends should learn to care more about their significant other and learn more about common sense about pregnancy and childbirth. |
