Women will ovulate when they reach a certain age, which is a normal and healthy physiological manifestation. However, some women experience ovulation disorders. Female infertility includes abnormal ovulation. There are many reasons for abnormal ovulation. First of all, we need to check what causes the infertility. If there is a problem with ovulation that affects conception, follicle monitoring should be done in time to observe the ovulation situation. Many women still don’t know how to do follicle monitoring. How to do follicle monitoring? Let’s take a look at it next.
1. How to do follicle monitoring? In clinical practice, follicle monitoring is done if the menstrual cycle is regular, with a cycle of 28-30 days. It is recommended to start monitoring follicles on the 12th day of menstruation, mainly to understand whether there are follicles growing in the ovaries, and then do an ultrasound examination on the 14th day of menstruation, mainly to understand whether the original follicles have grown. Under normal circumstances, the follicles grow at a rate of 1.5-2mm per day. On the 16th day of menstruation, a B-ultrasound should be done. The main purpose is to see whether the follicles have moved from the inside of the ovary to the surface of the ovary and have become the dominant follicles. In this case, you can choose to have sex. It is recommended to check again one day after having sex, mainly to see whether the original dominant follicle has ruptured and discharged the egg. 2. Notes
1. Taboos before examination
1. Generally, it is done on the 9th to 10th day of the menstrual cycle. The normal cycle can be monitored on the 10th to 11th day. The drug-induced cycle requires monitoring of follicle development 1 to 2 days in advance. Therefore, you should choose the correct examination date according to your menstrual cycle. 2. The patient must have a properly filled bladder. Inadequate or excessive bladder filling will affect the sonographic display of the ovaries, making it even more difficult to see the echoes of the internal structures, which will not achieve the clinical purpose. 3. The patient should empty his bowels before the examination. Especially for patients with constipation, it is best to give them laxatives the day before the examination to prevent dry feces from affecting the imaging of the ovaries. (II) Requirements during inspection: 1. The time requirement for follicle detection is relatively strict. You must be sure to go to the hospital for examination on time. It is best to write down the examination date in a notebook to avoid forgetting. 2. If you feel any discomfort after taking the drug-induced follicular ultrasound drug during the cycle, you should inform the medical staff in time so that they can make timely and correct treatment. 3. Inspection process Generally speaking, starting from the 8th day of the menstrual cycle, ultrasound monitoring should be done once every 2 days. When the diameter of the follicle is found to be 17 mm, monitoring should be changed to once a day. When the follicle matures and reaches a diameter of 20-23 mm, it should be measured twice a day if necessary until ovulation. The B-ultrasound probe frequency is 3.5MHz. During each monitoring, the size and shape of both ovaries are observed, and the number and size of follicles, the day of menstruation, etc. are recorded. |
