The day after menstruation ends is the ovulation date

Menstruation comes on time for every adult woman. It is a normal physiological phenomenon. If you want to get pregnant, you have to fertilize during the ovulation period after the menstruation, because it is very easy for female friends to fertilize and get pregnant during the ovulation period. So do you know which day after the menstruation ends is the ovulation period? If you don’t know, let’s find out together.

Ovulation refers to the process in which the egg cell and the surrounding cumulus granulosa cells are released together. A woman's ovulation date is generally around 14 to 16 days before the next menstrual period. After the egg is released from the ovary, it can survive in the fallopian tube for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization; the male's sperm can maintain its fertilization ability in the female's reproductive tract for 2-3 days, so it is easy to get pregnant through sexual intercourse a few days before and after the egg is released. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, together with the ovulation day, a total of 10 days, the ovulation period. Because it is easy to get pregnant through sexual intercourse during the ovulation period, the ovulation period is also called the fertile period or the dangerous period.

The first day of ovulation = the number of days in the shortest menstrual cycle minus 18 days;

The last day of ovulation = the longest menstrual cycle minus 11 days.

For example, the shortest menstrual period is 28 days and the longest is 37 days. The shortest regular period is subtracted by 18 (28-18=10) and the longest regular period is subtracted by 11 (37-11=26). Therefore, the ovulation period is from the 10th day to the 26th day after the menstrual period.

It is very important for young women to correctly grasp the ovulation period: if you want to get pregnant, start from the first day of the ovulation period and maintain a frequency of having sex every two days. If you persist for a few months, you will generally get pregnant unless there are special circumstances. Women who do not want to get pregnant need to miss these days of sexual intercourse. At this time, the ovulation period will be called another term: the dangerous period.

The day after a woman ovulates, the corpus luteum forms in the ovaries and secretes progesterone, which causes the body temperature to rise by about 0.6 degrees Celsius, causing the body temperature to change between high and low phases. The high temperature period lasts about 12-16 days (14 days on average). If there is no pregnancy, the corpus luteum shrinks and stops secreting progesterone, the body temperature drops, returns to the baseline, and menstruation occurs. If the woman is already pregnant, the corpus luteum is supported by the hormones secreted by the embryo and continues to secrete progesterone, so the body temperature remains high. If the ovaries are dysfunctional, there is no ovulation and no corpus luteum is formed, so the body temperature will remain low.

The menstrual cycle of women begins on the first day of menstruation. The length of the cycle varies from person to person, ranging from about 21-35 days, with an average of about 28 days. It is divided by the ovulation day. The follicular phase is before ovulation, and the luteal phase is after ovulation. The length of the follicular phase is not fixed, but the normal luteal phase is fixed at about 14 days plus or minus two days.

The ovulation period for women is about the fourteenth day after the menstruation is over. In our lives, we must learn to calculate our own ovulation period, because it will be easier to get pregnant. We can also use the ovulation period for contraception. We must make accurate calculations based on our own physiological cycle so that we can clearly know our ovulation period.
