Why does pregnant women have white precipitate in their urine?

Pregnant women must pay more attention to their physical health. Once they have any disease, it will affect the health of mother and child. Some pregnant women will find some white sediment in their urine. So, is this normal? Will it be harmful to the child or the mother? Today, the editor will introduce to you what causes white sediment in pregnant women's urine.

There are five possible causes of white turbidity in the urine of pregnant women: proteinuria, pyuria, chyluria, crystalluria and prostatic fluid urine!

Proteinuria is caused by abnormal increase of protein in urine due to kidney or other diseases, such as nephritis and kidney disease. Such diseases are often accompanied by other manifestations, such as edema. Pyuria is caused by increase of white blood cells in urine after urinary tract infection, such as cystitis and renal tuberculosis, and is often accompanied by frequent urination, urgency and pain. Chyluria is caused by urinary filariasis, in which lymph fluid leaks into urine, which is extremely rare. Crystalluria is caused by certain salts in urine forming crystals under suitable temperature and acidity and alkalinity conditions. Crystalluria may be related to the formation of urinary stones.

Possible causes of proteinuria

1. False proteinuria - when collecting urine samples, the urine is accidentally contaminated

Due to anatomical reasons of the female reproductive system, the urethra is short and adjacent to the vagina. Pregnant women with genital tract inflammation have increased vaginal secretions. If urine is not collected at the right time, the specimen is easily contaminated by vaginal secretions, and proteinuria may occur, leading to misdiagnosis.

Correct approach: When collecting urine samples, discard the initial urine and keep the middle urine for testing.

Hypertensive disorders complicating pregnancy

Edema, proteinuria and hypertension are the three major symptoms of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. If edema or proteinuria is accompanied by increased blood pressure, there is a high possibility of gestational hypertension.

Correct approach: Hypertensive disorder complicating pregnancy is a disease unique to pregnancy. The incidence rate in my country is 9.4%, while the incidence rate reported abroad is 7%~12%. Most cases only experience transient hypertension and proteinuria during pregnancy, which disappear after delivery.

The above is what I want to introduce to you today about the reasons why there is white sediment in pregnant women’s urine. You can learn about it, and I hope that my sharing will be helpful to you. The editor reminds all expectant mothers to pay attention to their diet and rest in daily life. The editor also wishes everyone to have a healthy body.
