How long does it take to do ultrasound examination during pregnancy

It is very important to have an ultrasound examination after pregnancy so as to see the development of the fetus. B-ultrasound examination is divided into multiple periods and is carried out in stages. It can systematically show the child's growth situation, which can be said to be very important. However, many women are pregnant for the first time and know little about the relevant situation. So, how long does it take to do an ultrasound examination during pregnancy? Let’s take a closer look below.

Ultrasound examination can only see the gestational sac after 5 weeks of pregnancy, and the detection rate of the gestational sac reaches 100% at 6 weeks of pregnancy. The embryo can be seen at 6-7 weeks of pregnancy. At 49 days of pregnancy, when the diameter of the embryo is 2mm, the primitive heart tube beating can be seen. At 8 weeks of pregnancy, the human shape begins to take shape.

All organs are formed at the 14th week, hair begins to appear at the 15th week, and the uterus is about 16CM at the 16th week.

At the end of the 17th week, the baby's movements are restricted and fetal movements occur. The second scan (to determine gender) is done at the end of week 21. The gender will be known at the end of the 22nd week.

If you do an ultrasound too early, it will not be easy to see the shadow of the gestational sac because it is too small. Not every doctor can make an accurate diagnosis, and it depends on the experience of the person doing the imaging, and the more they do, the better. Ideally, it will be easily visible at 8-10 weeks of pregnancy. And if you do B-ultrasound too early, it will theoretically shock the fragile, newly formed embryo, which is not conducive to embryonic development. It is best to avoid doing B-ultrasound too early or doing it multiple times.

The above is an introduction to how long you should wait before doing an ultrasound examination during pregnancy. I hope it will be helpful for pregnant women. People's material conditions are better now, and for the healthy development of children, we must understand the situation at an early stage. After all, the current environmental pollution is quite serious, and it is difficult to say what problems may arise in children. Early solutions can help prevent problems before they occur.
