Symptoms of adnexal cysts in women

Female adnexal cysts, which we usually call ovarian cysts, are relatively common reproductive cysts. In a broad sense, they belong to ovarian cysts. The symptoms are not particularly obvious in the early stages, so it is easy to ignore the harmfulness of this disease. As the disease progresses, a lump will appear in the lower abdomen, which often causes abdominal pain and congestion in the uterine cavity. Dysmenorrhea will usually occur, which can cause irregular menstruation.

Symptoms of adnexal cysts in women

Symptom 1: Lower abdominal mass. If a woman has ovarian cysts, she can feel a mass in the lower abdomen.

Symptom 2: Abdominal pain. Usually women with ovarian cysts do not have pain symptoms. However, if an ovarian cyst ruptures, it will cause severe abdominal pain.

Symptom 3: Compression symptoms. For patients with ovarian cysts, the entire abdominal cavity of female friends can be filled, which promotes the increase of intra-abdominal pressure in women, thus causing compression symptoms in women;

Symptom 4: Irregular menstruation. Irregular menstruation is a common symptom of ovarian cysts. This is mainly because women do not receive timely and effective treatment after suffering from ovarian cysts, thus affecting the normal secretion function of the ovaries.

Ovarian cysts are classified into three categories:

1. Functional cyst: This is the most common cyst. It occurs in women of childbearing age during the ovulation cycle, when an abnormal amount of fluid accumulates in the follicles or corpus luteum, forming follicular cysts or corpus luteum cysts. This functional cyst can sometimes be quite large, but it usually disappears on its own within three months, regardless of medication or not.

2. Hemorrhagic cysts: Sometimes follicular cysts and corpus luteum cysts grow too rapidly, causing the ovarian tissue to be pulled and rupture and bleed. This blood accumulates in the ovary because it has no outlet, and is called a hemorrhagic cyst. This type of cyst usually disappears on its own but it may take a long time. If the physical discomfort is more obvious, you can take medicine to alleviate the symptoms. Only in rare cases, when the patient presents with more severe symptoms, does surgical resection require surgery.

3. Serous epithelial cysts and mucinous epithelial cysts: Cysts that still exist after three months of observation are likely to be epithelial ovarian cysts rather than functional cysts. This is because the serous cells and mucous cells with secretory functions are buried in the ovaries after ovulation and continuously secrete fluid to form cysts. This type of cyst will not go away and needs to be removed surgically.

Ovarian cysts are a common gynecological tumor disease in women, which can cause great harm to women's bodies, so women should pay attention to this. Since untimely treatment of ovarian cysts can lead to female infertility, female friends should promptly detect the symptoms of ovarian cysts and receive timely treatment.
