The abnormal pregnancy process in which the fertilized egg implants and develops outside the uterine cavity is also called "ectopic pregnancy". The most common type of pregnancy is tubal pregnancy. The cause of the disease is often due to inflammation in the fallopian tube lumen or its surroundings, which causes poor patency of the lumen, hindering the normal operation of the fertilized egg, causing it to stay, implant, and develop in the fallopian tube, leading to miscarriage or rupture of the fallopian tube pregnancy. There are often no obvious symptoms before miscarriage or rupture, but there may also be amenorrhea, abdominal pain, and a small amount of vaginal bleeding. After rupture, symptoms include acute and severe abdominal pain, repeated attacks, vaginal bleeding, and even shock. Examination often shows signs of intra-abdominal bleeding and a mass next to the uterus. Ultrasound examination can assist in diagnosis. Treatment is mainly surgical. While correcting shock, laparotomy and removal of the diseased fallopian tube are performed. If you want to preserve your fertility, you can also cut the fallopian tube and remove the fertilized egg.

When does ectopic pregnancy bleed? Generally speaking, around 40 days of pregnancy, if it is an ectopic pregnancy, there will be bleeding. After the death of the embryo, there is often irregular vaginal bleeding, which is dark red in color and small in amount, generally not exceeding the amount of menstruation. A small number of patients have heavy vaginal bleeding, similar to menstruation, and may be accompanied by the discharge of decidual fragments. Due to acute intra-abdominal bleeding and severe abdominal pain, mild cases may experience fainting, while severe cases may suffer from hemorrhagic shock. The more and faster the bleeding, the quicker and more severe the symptoms appear, but they are not proportional to the amount of vaginal bleeding.

The serum progesterone level in ectopic pregnancy is low, but it is relatively stable during 5 to 10 weeks of pregnancy, and a single measurement has great diagnostic value. Although there is overlap between normal and abnormal pregnancy serum progesterone levels, making it difficult to determine the absolute critical value between them, a serum progesterone level lower than 10 ng/m1 (radioimmunoassay) often indicates an abnormal pregnancy, with an accuracy rate of about 90%. Therefore, it is necessary to test progesterone in early pregnancy.

Treatment for ectopic pregnancy: Salpingectomy is suitable for emergency patients with internal bleeding and shock who have no fertility requirements. Young women who wish to have children can undergo fallopian tube fenestration.

The above is an introduction to when bleeding occurs in ectopic pregnancy. I believe that after reading the above introduction, you already know when ectopic pregnancy bleeding occurs. From the above introduction, we can know that the bleeding time of ectopic pregnancy is generally around forty days of pregnancy, but it does not mean that bleeding around forty days of pregnancy is definitely an ectopic pregnancy!
