What is the age of menopause?

The onset of women's menstruation occurs during puberty. Menstruation proves that women have the ability to become pregnant. Therefore, women's menstruation will affect their physical health. Women will also experience menopause when they age. So what is the age of menopause? Let's ask the experts to introduce this issue.

Menopause generally begins about 10 years before menopause, and the clinical indicator of obvious ovarian function decline is "menopause". The age of menopause is usually between 45 and 55 years old.

The timing of menopause in women varies greatly from person to person and is related to many factors.

(1) Age at menarche. Those with an earlier age of menarche tend to have a later menopause; those with a later age of menarche tend to have an earlier menopause.

(2) Genetic and family factors. If the mother and sisters have menopause early, then the person will also have menopause early; otherwise, it will be later.

(3) Menstrual cycle and menstrual volume. Women with short menstrual cycles, fewer days, less menstrual flow, and no dysmenorrhea generally experience menopause earlier; women with long menstrual cycles, more days, heavier menstrual flow, and dysmenorrhea generally experience menopause later.

(4) Living standards. Women with a high standard of living have menopause later, while women with a low standard of living have menopause earlier.

(5) Marital status and fertility. Married women have menopause later than unmarried women; those who have had more pregnancies and childbirths have menopause later, and those who have had more than one pregnancy and childbirth have menopause later than those who have never had a pregnancy and childbirth.

(6) Educational level. Those with primary school education or illiterates have menopause later than those with high school or university education; those with family discord, loneliness and indifference have menopause earlier; those who are divorced or widowed have menopause earlier than those with a spouse.

(7) Smoking factor. Smoking can cause early menopause because the nicotine in cigarettes affects the blood supply to the ovaries, causing premature ovarian failure.

(8) Certain gynecological diseases. Diseases such as uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, uterine body cancer, and breast cancer may be accompanied by delayed menopause.

The above is the expert’s opinion on this issue. If a patient has a problem, he or she should consult an expert for treatment in a timely manner to ensure the patient’s health. Abnormal menstruation in women will affect the health of women’s bodies. Therefore, if a problem occurs, timely treatment must be given. Finally, I wish women good health.
