How to deal with pollen allergy in pregnant women

The spring season is undoubtedly a very troubling time for friends with sensitive skin. For example, pregnant women may be allergic to pollen. In the early stages of pregnancy, the body always feels more sensitive. In addition, the spread of pollen in the spring can easily cause allergies. Let us learn how to deal with it.

Pregnant women who are allergic to pollen will feel uncomfortable if it is mild, usually with symptoms of itching and redness on the exposed skin. Severe cases will affect the physical condition of the fetus. Here, we also remind pregnant women to go to the hospital in time if they find similar symptoms.

Guidance:

1. Avoiding pollen is an unavoidable allergen. It is best to stay indoors during the outbreak season and close doors and windows to reduce the entry of outdoor allergenic pollen. This purpose can also be achieved if air conditioning is available. Avoid going outdoors as much as possible. If you are allergic to vegetables or fruits, you should avoid eating those plant foods that you are allergic to.

2. If the diagnosis has been confirmed, anti-inflammatory agents should be used before the pollen season arrives, such as topical corticosteroid elocon ointment. Those with nasal allergy symptoms should use nasal hormones or sodium cromolyn. Those with asthma can use oral inhaled hormones or sodium cromolyn for prevention. Not recommended, follow your doctor's instructions

3. Symptomatic medication: For patients who have already developed the disease, some drugs should be used for symptomatic treatment. In addition to continuing to use the above-mentioned drugs, oral antihistamines can be taken to relieve nasal symptoms, and attention should be paid to choosing non-drowsy antihistamines such as Claritin, and decongestants (i.e. vasoconstrictors) such as Claritin can be used to improve nasal congestion. When an asthma attack occurs, antiasthmatic drugs such as the β2 agonists Ventolin, Ventolin, salbutamol and Combivent (β2 agonist and ipratropium bromide) can be inhaled orally. Severe cases require hospitalization.

In the above article, we learned how to deal with pollen allergies in pregnant women. Everyone should pay active attention to their skin care in life, especially in the spring season when pregnant women are prone to pollen allergies. Try to reduce going out to protect your skin.
