Postpartum complications in detail

Many women, right after giving birth, not only need to recover physically, but also need to guard against the occurrence of complications. If they fail to recover well, it will easily affect the occurrence of complications, such as depression. Who says that more serious conditions will occur? So, let me introduce to you in detail, what are the postpartum complications?

1. Postpartum constipation

(1) Slow intestinal motility causes constipation

During pregnancy, the pregnant woman's progesterone level is high, causing the intestinal muscles to relax. After giving birth, the intestinal abdominal muscles are stretched, intestinal peristalsis slows down, and constipation symptoms are very likely to occur.

(2) Perineal wounds make defecation difficult

It is easy for mothers to suffer perineal tears during childbirth. The perineal wound is too painful, forcing mothers to suppress the urge to defecate, which may cause postpartum constipation over time.

If a mother experiences constipation after giving birth, she does not need to worry too much, but she should not rely on taking laxatives to defecate. It is recommended to massage the abdomen frequently and eat more heat-clearing foods such as fruits, vegetables and honey. Remember not to consume spicy and irritating foods such as coffee, strong tea, alcohol, etc.

2. Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression is the mental depression symptoms that women experience after giving birth. After giving birth, women may feel depressed and irritable due to sadness and worry. In serious cases, they may not be able to take care of themselves, let alone take good care of infants and young children. Some mothers become extremely pessimistic and desperate, and may even develop suicidal tendencies. In fact, mothers should have a correct view of the phenomenon of "postpartum depression". Studies have found that 50%-75% of mothers will experience mild depression within one week after delivery, and the incidence of depression is also high during the "confinement" period.

3. Postpartum hair loss

After giving birth, women have higher oil secretion and are prone to hair loss, but there is no need to worry too much. As long as you use a mild shampoo to wash your hair properly, it will naturally return to normal after a period of time.

The above introduces postpartum complications. In life, female friends who have just given birth should pay attention to the recovery of their mood and body, arrange their sleep time reasonably, and not exhaust themselves by taking care of the baby.
