What is female estrogen?

People often hear about female estrogen in daily life. In fact, the secretion level of female estrogen has some impact on the endocrine level of women, and the endocrine level is very important for women, but in real life many women are not aware of this. Let’s take a look at what female estrogen is?

Estrogen is a female hormone produced by the ovaries and placenta. The adrenal cortex also produces small amounts of estrogen. After female children enter puberty, their ovaries begin to secrete estrogen to promote the development of the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries themselves. At the same time, the endometrium proliferates and produces menstruation.

Estrogen: When the follicles begin to develop, the amount of estrogen secreted is very small. As the follicles mature, the secretion of estrogen gradually increases, forming a peak before ovulation. The secretion decreases slightly after ovulation, and another peak is formed when the corpus luteum matures about 7 to 8 days after ovulation. When the corpus luteum atrophies, the estrogen level drops sharply, reaching the lowest level before menstruation.

In addition to the reproductive system and estrogen, many tissues and organs in the female body have its targets, such as the nervous system, cardiovascular system, bones, urinary system, etc. These systems or tissues can all interact with estrogen, so the role of estrogen is indispensable to these systems in the process of girls' development and maturation. The secretion of progesterone begins to increase after ovulation, reaches its peak when the corpus luteum matures 7 to 8 days after ovulation, and then gradually decreases, returning to the pre-ovulation level when menstruation occurs. The secretion of ovarian hormones (estrogen and progesterone) in normal women changes with the ovarian cycle.

Therefore, from the above we can see that female estrogen has a great impact on some normal physiological phenomena of women's menstrual period. It is recommended that women have good living habits and try not to stay up late, which is more beneficial to the secretion of estrogen in the body.
