What should I do if I have vaginal inflammation?

For most women, if they do not pay attention to personal hygiene and have a weak physical constitution, it will easily lead to gynecological inflammation. So what do female friends know about some diseases? Many people are busy with work and know little about these. So if there is vaginal inflammation, what should they do and what measures should they take?

Under normal circumstances, occasional flushing of the vulva and vagina with water can reduce the amount of secretions. However, for increased secretions caused by vaginitis, special treatment is needed based on the cause. If vaginitis is caused by infection, different antibacterial, antifungal or antiviral drugs should be used for treatment according to the infecting microorganisms. Before treating the infection, you can first rinse with vinegar water, which can easily control the symptoms. However, frequent douching and drug douching are not recommended because they increase the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease. If your labia (the folds of skin around the vaginal and urethral openings) are sticky due to a previous infection, vaginal estrogen cream may be used for 7 to 10 days.

For bacterial infections, in addition to antibiotic treatment, diethylhexanoic acid gel can also be used to increase the acidity of vaginal secretions and inhibit bacterial reproduction. For sexually transmitted diseases, both sexual partners should be treated at the same time to prevent reinfection.

After menopause, thinning of the vaginal mucosa (atrophic vaginitis) can be treated with estrogen replacement therapy. Estrogen can be taken by mouth, as a skin patch, or as an ointment applied to the vulva and vagina.

Medical treatment for the cause of vulvitis is the same as for vaginitis. In addition, patients should wear loose, absorbent and breathable clothing, such as cotton underwear. Keep your vulva clean at all times. Since many detergent soaps can be irritating to the vulva, it is best to use glycerin soap. You can place ice packs, cool sitz baths, or use cool compressed air on the vulva to relieve pain and itching. Noninfectious itching can also be relieved with cortisone creams or ointments, as well as hydrocortisone and antihistamines taken by mouth. Taking acyclovir by mouth or applying acyclovir cream topically can relieve the symptoms of herpes infection and shorten the course of the disease. Pain relievers can relieve pain.

Chronic vulvitis is often related to poor personal hygiene. The first thing to do is to guide patients to develop good hygiene habits. If there is a bacterial infection, treat it with antibiotics. For skin lesions such as psoriasis, cortisone ointment can be applied externally. Substances that cause irritation, such as cosmetic creams, powders, and certain types of condoms, should not be used.

The above are some measures taken to address the problem of vaginal inflammation. Today's female friends are under great pressure. Not only do they have to have their own jobs, but they also have to take care of their families and children. Therefore, they are particularly tired mentally and physically. I hope that female friends will take good care of their bodies in addition to their busy lives, because having a good body is the most important thing.
