Causes of cervical hypertrophy in women

Causes of cervical hypertrophy in women

Today we are going to discuss cervicitis, a common gynecological disease in women. One of the symptoms, "cervical hypertrophy", is relatively rare, but its incidence rate is increasing year by year, and its harmfulness cannot be underestimated. When it occurs, it often causes uterine bleeding, and the amount of bleeding will increase with the worsening of inflammation. Its onset time is also relatively long, so we must have sufficient understanding of it. Let's pay attention to its cause below.

Cervical hypertrophy is a type of cervical disease and a type of chronic cervicitis. Ovarian dysfunction and continuous estrogen stimulation can cause thickening of the uterine muscle layer. Clinically, patients with functional uterine bleeding, especially those with a long course of illness, often have varying degrees of uterine enlargement. In addition, intrauterine congestion can cause hyperplasia of uterine connective tissue and may also lead to uterine hypertrophy.

Cause 1: Gynecological inflammation leads to: chronic adnexitis, pelvic connective tissue inflammation and chronic uterine myositis, which cause collagen fiber proliferation in the myometrium and uterine fibrosis.

Reason 2: Myometrial vascular sclerosis: caused by primary uterine vascular disease.

Reason 3: Pelvic congestion: Pelvic congestion causes hyperplasia of uterine connective tissue and may also cause uterine hypertrophy.

Reason 4: Chronic incomplete uterine involution in multiparous women: The elastic fiber tissue in the uterine myometrium of multiparous women proliferates between the smooth muscles and around the blood vessels, causing uterine hypertrophy.

Reason 5: Ovarian dysfunction: Continuous stimulation of estrogen can cause thickening of the uterine muscle layer. Clinically, patients with functional uterine bleeding, especially those with a long course of illness, often have varying degrees of cervical enlargement.

It can be seen that the cause of female cervical hypertrophy is quite complicated. Various problems such as metritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, or ovarian dysfunction may cause cervical hypertrophy if not treated in time. This disease is more common in married women. Therefore, if you are diagnosed with this disease, you must take preventive measures and seek treatment as soon as possible to avoid more serious harm.
