What to do if your menstruation continues

What to do if your menstruation continues

Many women are very distressed because their menstrual periods are always irregular. Sometimes the menstrual period is very long and continuous. When women find this problem, they need to pay attention. This may be caused by some inflammatory problems. They must have a comprehensive physical examination to understand their physical condition so that they can take timely treatment measures.

Blood diseases: such as thrombocytopenic purpura, aplastic anemia, etc., are often accompanied by menstruation. If severe uterine bleeding occurs, the menstrual period will be prolonged. Other conditions such as chronic anemia, chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, nephritis, etc. can make the blood vessel walls fragile and increase permeability, causing bleeding, pelvic inflammation, endometrial polyps, and endometritis:

Pelvic inflammation, intrauterine polyps, endometritis, etc. are all caused by poor intrauterine blood circulation, degeneration and necrosis, or pelvic congestion, which lead to excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation. When inflammation occurs in the pelvic cavity or organs adjacent to the fallopian tubes, such as appendicitis, it can directly spread to cause salpingo-oophoritis and pelvic peritonitis. The inflammation usually occurs in the adjacent fallopian tube and ovary.

Chronic uterine hypertrophy (myometritis): Due to pelvic congestion, ovarian estrogen continues to increase, causing thickening of the uterine muscle layer, resulting in excessive menstruation and prolonged menstruation.

Endometriosis: often causes menorrhagia or prolonged menstruation due to affecting the contraction of the uterine muscle layer or due to enhancement of the endometrium.

Uterine fibroids: especially submucosal uterine fibroids, due to the expansion of the uterine cavity area and abnormal contraction, it can cause menorrhagia and prolonged menstruation.

Dysfunctional uterine bleeding: such as anovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding and irregular endometrial shedding, both of which cause prolonged menstruation due to endocrine dysfunction. Having an IUD can also cause prolonged menstruation.

The above are the issues that need to be paid attention to when menstruation lasts too long. From these introductions, we will find that many gynecological diseases, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, endometrial polyps, or other reproductive health problems, may cause women to have irregular menstruation and continuous menstruation, so women must pay attention to regulating their bodies.
