Cervical erosion is related to the number of days of the menstrual cycle

For women, they all want to make their bodies healthier, but many women suffer from cervical erosion due to various reasons, which makes their menstrual cycles particularly unstable. Therefore, many women in this situation want to know whether cervical erosion is related to the number of days in the menstrual cycle for their own health and to ensure their normal menstrual cycles. In order for you to understand it as soon as possible, please take a look at the following introduction.

Cervical erosion refers to the situation in which the squamous epithelium on the surface of the vaginal part of the cervix at the external os of the cervix is covered by the columnar epithelium of the cervical canal due to inflammation, making the tissue in this area appear as a fine granular red area. In the early stage of inflammation, the erosion surface is only covered by a single layer of columnar epithelium, and the surface is flat, which is called simple erosion; later due to excessive proliferation of glandular epithelium and accompanied by interstitial hyperplasia, the erosion surface becomes uneven and granular, which is called granular erosion; if the interstitial hyperplasia is significant, the uneven surface phenomenon becomes more obvious and becomes papillary, which is called papillary erosion.

Grading of cervical erosion

According to the size of the erosion area, it can be divided into three degrees: mild, which means that the erosion surface is less than 1/3 of the entire cervical area; moderate, which means that the erosion surface occupies 1/3-2/3 of the entire cervical area; severe, which means that the erosion surface occupies more than 2/3 of the entire cervical area.

Clinical manifestations of cervical erosion

The main clinical symptom is increased leucorrhea. However, due to the different scope and degree of pathogens and inflammation, the amount, nature, color and odor of leucorrhea are also different. It may be milky white mucus, sometimes light yellow pus, and bloody leucorrhea or bleeding after sexual intercourse may occur when polyps are formed. When the inflammation spreads along the uterosacral ligament to the pelvic cavity, there may be pain in the lumbar region, pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea. It often worsens during menstruation, bowel movements or sexual intercourse.

Epidemiology of cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is the most common inflammation of the female reproductive organs and is more common in married women. Chinese medical workers once conducted an epidemiological survey in a city in Hubei Province. The results showed that the incidence of cervical erosion among employed married women was as high as 43.89%, of which 70.12% had mild cervical erosion, 27.86% had moderate cervical erosion, and 2.02% had severe cervical erosion. In terms of classification, the simple type accounted for the majority, accounting for 56.69%, while the papillary type and granular type accounted for 43 and 31% respectively. The incidence is higher among rural women. Although cervical erosion is a local lesion, it directly affects women's physical and mental health. Cervical erosion not only brings pain to patients, but also has the risk of causing infertility and cervical cancer (data show that the incidence of cervical cancer is 4.4 times higher than that of normal people). The larger the erosion area, the greater the risk factor. Timely treatment of cervical erosion is a last resort.

Cervical erosion is closely related to sexual life

Relevant expert investigation and research believe that cervical erosion is closely related to sexual life. Due to the barrier function of the hymen, unmarried women's vagina is generally not invaded by foreign objects, so cervical erosion rarely occurs. Once married and having sexual intercourse, the vagina is in a relatively "open" state and can be invaded by foreign pathogens.

Cervical erosion is related to the number of days in the menstrual cycle. I believe that through the above introduction, we have a better understanding of it. Therefore, many women with cervical erosion, in order to have healthier menstruation, must undergo examinations and determine their own conditions after understanding the above content, and then carry out targeted treatment of cervical erosion and regulate their menstruation to make their bodies healthy as soon as possible.
