What does a female endocrine examination check?

I believe everyone knows the importance of endocrine to us. The role of endocrine is even more obvious for female friends. If there is an abnormality in endocrine, it is often easy to cause trouble to the body. Therefore, we recommend that female friends must go to the hospital for consultation in time if they have symptoms of endocrine disorders. Below we will introduce what the female endocrine examination checks.

More than 90% of women have experienced endocrine disorders, such as spots on the face, abnormal leucorrhea, and irregular menstruation. In fact, endocrine disorders are disorders of female sex hormones. Usually, endocrine examinations are done by checking blood to see whether the secretion of female sex hormones is at a relatively normal level.

The level of sex hormones is affected by the hypothalamus, pituitary gland and ovaries. The hypothalamus is the "supreme headquarters". It releases a certain amount of hormones (such as sex hormone-releasing hormone) and issues instructions to the subordinates (pituitary gland). The pituitary gland also sends signals to regulate the subordinate glands. For the ovaries, this signal is the follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland, and prolactin is also produced during lactation. Therefore, endocrine examination is actually to see whether the secretion levels of these hormones (including luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, prolactin, progesterone and estrogen) are normal.

In the female endocrine test form, we can see several indicators such as LH (luteinizing hormone), FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone), PRL (prolactin), PROG (progesterone), and E2 (estrogen). Luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone mainly promote follicle development and ovulation. If the test value is too high, it may indicate amenorrhea or infertility. If prolactin is too high, it may be due to pituitary tumor and hypothyroidism. If progesterone is too low, it indicates hypopituitarism and ovarian dysfunction, absence of menstruation or ovulation, and abnormal pregnancy. Ovarian tumors or pregnancy may both manifest as high estrogen levels. If the test value is too low, it may be caused by dysplasia, pituitary hypofunction, and ovarian failure.

In the above article, we introduced the importance of endocrine to us. We recommend that female friends must pay attention to endocrine changes in their daily lives. If endocrine disorders occur, they should be adjusted in time. The above article gives us a detailed introduction to what female endocrine examinations check.
