Precautions for eating crabs during breastfeeding

When it comes to crabs, people think of fat, meaty, fresh and juicy crabs, especially in autumn when everyone wants to try something new. However, there is a group of people who need special attention, and that is breastfeeding mothers! Crabs are cold foods and are prone to contain parasites and viruses. Breastfeeding mothers may experience diarrhea and other conditions if they eat them, and may even induce autoimmune system diseases in their babies. But it doesn’t mean that breastfeeding mothers cannot eat crabs. Breastfeeding mothers can eat crabs, but in small amounts.

Although crabs are delicious, breastfeeding mothers should not eat too many crabs. They must be aware of whether they have allergies before eating. If the greedy mother can't help it, she can eat some crabs, but she should pay attention to the following matters:

1. Eat less crabs each time: Breastfeeding mothers should eat no more than 100 grams of crabs each time.

2. Eat fresh crabs: When crabs are on the verge of death, a toxic substance called histamine will be secreted in their bodies, and the substance will accumulate as time passes since death. Moreover, the crab meat will quickly rot and deteriorate after death, breeding other bacteria. So don't eat crabs that are not fresh.

3. Avoid eating crabs raw and must be cooked: Although crabs can be eaten drunken, due to water quality problems, a large number of bacteria often breed in the crabs' bodies. Therefore, crabs must be cooked before eating, and do not eat them raw just to satisfy your greed for the delicious taste. When cooking crabs, make sure to cook them thoroughly, steam them thoroughly, and sterilize them at high temperature so that the crab shell turns red before eating them.

4. When eating crabs, you can only eat the meat, roe and roe: Since crabs live in rivers, lakes and feed on plankton and plants and like to crawl in sand and stones, the gills and intestines of crabs contain a lot of mud and sand. You must remove them when eating, and only eat the crab meat, crab roe and crab roe.

5. Foods that are not suitable to be eaten with crabs: When eating crabs, you should not eat them with celery, persimmons, pears, oranges, pomegranates, tomatoes, cantaloupe, peanuts, sweet potatoes, honey, rabbit meat and other foods, otherwise it will cause discomfort to your body.

6. It is not recommended to drink tea or cold drinks within 1 hour after eating crabs.

7. If you accidentally eat too many crabs at one time and experience symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, you should stop breastfeeding immediately and go to the hospital for medical treatment.

For the sake of the baby's health, breastfeeding mothers are advised to be patient. If you really can't resist the temptation of the delicious and juicy crabs, it is best to eat one to satisfy your craving. And the most important thing is to choose fresh ones!
