What is vulvar pseudocondyloma

Vulvar pseudocondyloma, I believe many people don’t know much about this disease, but it is related to one’s own health, so it is necessary to understand what vulvar pseudocondyloma is. So what is vulvar pseudocondyloma? What are the symptoms of this disease? Next, this article will start from these two aspects to introduce to you what vulvar pseudocondyloma is.

Vulvar pseudocondyloma, also known as vulvar condyloma acuminatum-like papules, is more common in young and middle-aged women. The rash is located on the inner side of the labia minora on both sides. It is a cluster of unfused roe-like or polyp-like small papules. It feels granular or soft to the touch, is light red, and is relatively moist. There are generally no subjective symptoms, but some may experience mild itching.

Pseudocondylomata requires diagnosis by a doctor. It may be related to Candida albicans or Trichomonas infection, chronic inflammatory stimulation, mechanical friction during sexual intercourse, or it may be a physiological variation of the mucosa. If it is caused by irritation of secretions or inflammation (such as excessive leucorrhea), find out the cause. Treat symptomatically. If it is a developmental abnormality (physiological variation of the genital mucosa), no treatment is required. Pseudo-condylomata has no adverse consequences and no impact on health.

The manifestations of pseudocondyloma are as follows:

1. Filiform hyperplasia type: It is more common on the inner side of the labia minora, urethral orifice and vaginal orifice, appearing as symmetrical and densely distributed single-branched filamentous or small polyp-like protrusions with a diameter of about 1mm. The obviously hyperplastic protrusions can be as long as 4-5mm, but have no branches, do not fuse with each other, and have a smooth surface with a light red color. If the lesions are located at the vaginal opening and urethral opening, fuzzy hairpin-shaped blood vessels can be seen. After applying acetic acid, the blood vessels disappear and the lesions remain unchanged.

2. Bullous hyperplasia type: more common on the inner side of the labia minora, with symmetrically distributed needle-tip-sized blister-like protrusions, edematous and translucent surface, about 1 mm in diameter, covered with light pink epithelium, and sometimes fuzzy punctate blood vessels can be seen on the top of the protrusions. After applying acetic acid, the blood vessels disappear and the lesions do not change color. This type is mainly seen in those with a short course of illness. There are no obvious abnormalities in the cytological examination of pseudocondyloma, and the HPV antigen and HPV DNA tests are mostly negative.

Prevention of vulvar pseudocondyloma should be strengthened to avoid infection with this type of disease. If there is no infection and the vaginal secretions are not much, there will be no symptoms of vulvar itching, and the skin lesions of vulvar pseudocondyloma will gradually decrease. Therefore, from a medical point of view, no special treatment is required for vulvar pseudocondyloma skin lesions.

The above is an introduction to what is pseudo-condyloma of the vulva. I believe that after reading this article, you will have a certain understanding of what pseudo-condyloma of the vulva is, know how this disease is defined, what manifestations it has, and how to prevent and treat it. These aspects are helpful for us to understand the basic knowledge of what vulvar pseudocondyloma is.
