Precautions for high blood pressure during pregnancy

Many female friends will have high blood pressure problems when they enter pregnancy, mainly because you lack exercise during pregnancy and you do not pay attention to your diet. Generally, women should not eat too much fatty food during pregnancy, and if they encounter high blood pressure during pregnancy, they should check it out in time to avoid harm from the disease.

Once a pregnant woman finds that her blood pressure is high, she should do the following. Strengthen prenatal examinations: According to the rules, prenatal examinations usually start 3 months after pregnancy, once a month before 7 months of pregnancy, once every two weeks during 8-9 months of pregnancy, and once a week in the last month of pregnancy. Pregnant women with high blood pressure should increase the frequency of prenatal examinations. It is best to have a check-up at least once a month before the seventh month of pregnancy, and once a week after the seventh month of pregnancy. When the due date is close, hospitalization should be carried out early.

Active antihypertensive treatment: Pregnant women cannot rely solely on antihypertensive drugs to treat hypertension, because excessive use of strong antihypertensive drugs is not good for the health of pregnant women or fetuses. Excessive use of sedatives is also not advisable. Generally, safer drugs include reserpine, antihypertensive spirit or compound antihypertensive tablets, etc. Traditional Chinese medicines such as wild chrysanthemum and rhubarb can also be used. At the same time, pregnant women should keep a happy mood, avoid mental stimulation and emotional excitement; ensure adequate sleep and pay attention to rest; the diet should not be too salty, and the daily salt intake should not exceed half a teaspoon to prevent edema. Once edema occurs, diuretics such as hydrochlorothiazide should be used.

Pregnant women with hypertension during pregnancy should reduce their intake of animal fats: Pregnant women with gestational hypertension should reduce their intake of animal fats, and it is best to use vegetable oil as the main oil for cooking, 20 to 25 grams per day. The heating energy of saturated fatty acids (such as lard, beef tallow, coconut oil, palm oil, etc.) should be less than 10%. Control the total amount of food intake: Pregnant women should consume enough energy to increase their body weight by 500 grams per week. For pregnant women who are already obese, it is advisable to gain 250 grams of weight per week. Control sodium salt intake: Pregnant women with pregnancy-induced hypertension should limit sodium salt intake to 3 to 5 grams per day.
