What are the causes of anovulatory functional uterine bleeding?

Many of us know that as a woman, we will feel particularly uncomfortable during the menstrual period every month, but normal women cannot avoid this situation. Many women in life are troubled by gynecological diseases. Gynecological diseases not only affect our physical and mental health, but also bring us a lot of troubles. Anovulatory functional uterine bleeding is a common gynecological disease in our lives. It seriously affects our lives. Let’s learn about the causes of anovulatory functional uterine bleeding.

Anovulatory functional uterine bleeding refers to irregular uterine bleeding caused by dysfunction of the neuroendocrine system, which is more common during adolescence and menopause. Dysfunctional uterine bleeding in adolescence is caused by the immature or delayed development of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, which results in the growth and development of follicles in the ovaries but the inability to ovulate normally. Menopausal functional uterine bleeding is caused by the natural aging of the ovaries, lack of follicles, ovarian dysfunction, and reduced sensitivity to pituitary gonadotropin, resulting in inability to ovulate and causing irregular vaginal bleeding. This is the metrorrhagia we often hear about. So what exactly is this disease?

1. Anovulatory functional uterine bleeding: The most common clinical symptom is irregular uterine bleeding, which is characterized by irregular menstrual cycles, irregular menstrual periods, variable bleeding volume, and even heavy bleeding. Sometimes there is a short period of amenorrhea followed by uterine bleeding. Sometimes it starts out as irregular bleeding. Sometimes the cycle is regular, with only symptoms of increased menstrual blood volume and prolonged menstrual period. There is no lower abdominal pain or other discomfort during the bleeding period, but anemia may occur if there is excessive bleeding.

2. Ovulatory functional uterine bleeding: 1) Imperfect corpus luteum development: Clinically, it is often manifested as a shortened menstrual cycle of less than 28 days. Some patients also have normal menstruation, which is often accompanied by infertility or early miscarriage. 2) Incomplete luteal atrophy: caused by insufficient secretion of estrogen and progesterone. It often occurs in women of childbearing age. The menstrual cycle is normal but the menstrual period is prolonged, the amount of bleeding varies, and sometimes there is continuous bleeding before and after menstruation. The main manifestation is a prolonged menstrual period.
