Nipple changes during early pregnancy

Nipple changes during early pregnancy

Many mothers will feel some changes in their nipples in the early stages of pregnancy, such as a darker nipple color and milk overflow. In fact, this is the most obvious one. Some yellowish thin liquid will flow out, which is the initial breast milk. It will be more obvious when squeezing the nipples. This kind of change is also to make corresponding preparations for the postpartum lactation period.

Question 1: Overflowing milk

Symptoms: A small amount of light yellow thin liquid flows out (also called "colostrum"), which is more obvious when squeezing the nipple.

Reason: Due to complex neuroendocrine regulation such as receptors and hormones during pregnancy, the mammary glands and mammary ducts of pregnant mothers gradually develop and mature. By the late pregnancy, they are fully prepared to secrete milk. However, generally there will be no milk secretion before delivery, but there will be individual cases.

Solution:

1 If the pregnant mother does not regurgitate a lot of milk, no special treatment is required. Just wash it with warm water in time and wipe it clean with a soft dry towel to avoid bacterial growth due to unclean cleaning, which will cause trouble.

2 If the milk regurgitation is excessive or lasts for a long time, the pregnant mother should consciously reduce the intake of liquid food, such as soup, water, porridge and other foods, and effectively control the water intake, which can effectively reduce the degree of milk regurgitation.

In the hot summer, are pregnant mothers who have the habit of milk overflowing worried that the overflowing milk will wet and dirty their clothes? Try this method and you will feel relieved. You can put anti-overflow breast milk pads inside your bra, which can effectively prevent milk from seeping out, so that there will be no embarrassing situation.

Question 2: Breast enlargement

Symptoms: As the pregnancy progresses, the breasts will gradually become larger, which is to prepare the mother for postpartum breastfeeding.

Reason: After pregnancy, due to the influence of estrogen and progesterone, the breasts of pregnant mothers will undergo significant changes. In the early stages of pregnancy, pregnant mothers often feel breast tenderness and tingling, and breast cells and lobules proliferate. As the breasts grow larger, they are sometimes accompanied by swelling and pain. Pregnant mothers do not need to worry too much.
