Symptoms of endometrioma

Symptoms of endometrioma

Endometrioma is a common disease among female friends. We suggest that everyone should pay attention to it in life, prevent the occurrence of this disease, and pay attention to the cleanliness of the inside of the uterus. For a disease like endometrioma, its main symptoms are uterine bleeding, uterine pain, vaginal discharge or uterine inflammation. I hope that patients with endometrioma can carefully analyze the causes of their disease.

1. Uterine bleeding: Irregular vaginal bleeding before and after menopause is the main symptom of endometrial tumors, usually with small to moderate amounts of bleeding. Not only are younger or menopausal patients prone to mistakenly believe that they have irregular menstruation and fail to seek medical treatment in a timely manner. Some people also have delayed menstrual cycles, but the symptoms are irregular. Postmenopausal patients often present with continuous or intermittent vaginal bleeding. Patients with endometrial tumors generally do not have contact bleeding. In the late stage, bleeding may be mixed with rotten meat-like tissue[1].

2. Pain: The tumor, its bleeding and the congestion of fluid stimulate the irregular contraction of the uterus and cause paroxysmal pain, accounting for about 10-46%. This symptom usually occurs in the late stage. If the tumor tissue penetrates the serosa or erodes the parauterine connective tissue, bladder, straight or compresses other tissues, it may also cause pain, which is often stubborn and progressive; and often radiates from the lumbosacral region and lower abdomen to the thighs and knees.

3. Vaginal discharge: Because glandular tumors grow in the uterine cavity, the chance of infection is less than that of cervical tumors. Therefore, there may be only a small amount of bloody leucorrhea in the early stage, but if infection and necrosis occur in the later stage, a large amount of foul-smelling pus and blood will be discharged. Sometimes the discharge contains small fragments of tumor tissue.

4. Others: Late-stage patients may feel the enlarged uterus or adjacent tissues and organs in the lower abdomen, or compress the ureter to cause hydroureteral pelvis or renal atrophy on that side; or experience anemia, weight loss, fever, cachexia and other systemic failure symptoms.

Endometrial tumors may have no obvious symptoms in the early stages. Once symptoms appear, you should seek medical attention promptly. Once an endometrial tumor is confirmed, you must actively seek treatment to avoid worsening of the condition. Endometrial tumors are mainly treated with surgery.

Based on the article's introduction to the symptoms of endometrioma, I believe you all know in what form endometrioma can appear in your life. For a disease like endometrioma, it is entirely possible to recover as long as women receive timely treatment from a doctor. However, if it is not treated in time, it will lead to infertility.
