TCM treatment of dysmenorrhea

TCM treatment of dysmenorrhea

Women have menstrual troubles every month, and often experience some adverse symptoms, such as dizziness, vomiting, menstrual pain, weakness in the limbs, etc. But the most troublesome thing for female friends is probably menstrual pain, which not only affects our mood, but also affects our work or life. Moreover, there are many things to pay attention to during this period, and you must be careful in all aspects of diet.

When women suffer from unbearable menstrual cramps at work, the quickest way to deal with it is to take painkillers, but taking too much is not good for the body. Although Chinese medicine takes longer to take effect than Western medicine, it is a conditioning process, and it is helpful for us to take good care of our body before menstruation.

1. Treat dysmenorrhea with plaster

Use musk pain-relieving ointment. Those who have premenstrual pain or abdominal pain and refuse to press should start applying it before menstruation; those who have dull pain in the middle and late stages of menstruation and like to press and feel heat should apply it during menstruation. Apply one sheet each on the painful area and coccyx, change it once a day, and you will see the effect after applying it for 3 consecutive days.

2. Acupressure to treat dysmenorrhea

Press the Hegu and Sanyinjiao points with the tip of your index finger for 1 minute each. The effect is better when you feel soreness, numbness, heaviness or swelling. You can also feel and press around the Diji acupoint to find the most sensitive spot, and use the tip of your thumb to press the sensitive spot from light to heavy until you can tolerate it. Continue pressing for 1 minute and the pain will quickly ease or disappear. It can be performed a few days before and during menstruation, 1 to 2 times a day.

3. Umbilical ironing method for treating dysmenorrhea

Use 10 grams of cinnamon, 20 grams of Evodia rutaecarpa, 15 grams each of fennel and Corydalis, grind them into very fine powder, stir-fry with appropriate amount of rice wine, put them into a gauze bag, and when the temperature is suitable, place it on the navel or lower abdomen, and apply ironing continuously. After cooling, you can reheat it and apply it until the dysmenorrhea disappears.

In addition to the above, female friends who eat more cold and raw foods during normal times or menstruation may also suffer from dysmenorrhea. The most important thing is that we should develop a good lifestyle in our daily life and exercise regularly, which can also effectively relieve dysmenorrhea. Nutrition should also be supplemented in time, otherwise it will be a loss for us.
