Abnormal bleeding may indicate cancer

Abnormal bleeding may indicate cancer

Normal bleeding, except for menstruation, is generally a disease phenomenon. For example, trauma, inflammation, ulcers, blood diseases, cancer, etc. can all cause bleeding. Cancer can cause bleeding because, unlike normal tissue in the human body, it grows rapidly. In these rapidly growing tissues, new blood vessels will also grow to supply nutrients to the tissues. These new blood vessels do not have the regulatory function of blood vessels and are relatively fragile. If the tumor protrudes into the cavity and is infected by bacteria in the cavity, or the tumor tissue itself falls off and necrotizes, coupled with the influence of mechanical shocks such as defecation and coughing, bleeding may occur. Therefore, we should be highly vigilant about some abnormal bleeding. Here are some common abnormal bleeding:

Nose bleeding is one of the early symptoms of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Many people think that nose bleeding is a minor matter, but if bloody secretions appear repeatedly in the nasal discharge, the nasal discharge is light pink, or the nasal discharge contains trace amounts of blood, small blood clots, and bloody secretions, it may be a "big deal." Because this seemingly normal nosebleed may be an early sign of nasopharyngeal cancer. If you also experience a feeling of ear blockage, nasal congestion, nasal sounds, etc., you should be more suspicious of this disease. If you have the above symptoms, you should seek medical diagnosis as soon as possible to avoid delaying the disease.

About 60% of lung cancer patients have blood in sputum. Most of them are continuous or intermittent repeated small amounts of hemoptysis, and occasionally there are severe hemoptysis. The duration of hemoptysis varies, some only occur once or twice, and some last for 1 to 2 months or even more than 1 year. It is particularly important to note that occasional hemoptysis is often confused with other lung diseases, such as bronchiectasis, so sputum tumor cell examination should be done for differentiation. If the sputum coughed up from the trachea does contain blood or blood clots, and not bleeding from the nose, throat, teeth, etc. mixed in the sputum, then you should go to the hospital for a comprehensive lung examination to diagnose the condition early, receive treatment early, and control the condition early.

Hematuria This is one of the early symptoms of bladder cancer. If there is blood in the urine but no pain, this is one of the early symptoms of cancer. About 75% of bladder cancer patients are diagnosed with the disease through painless hematuria. Hematuria is often painless and intermittent, and can subside or stop on its own, which can easily create the illusion that the disease has been cured. A small number of bladder cancer patients may experience symptoms such as increased urination frequency, urgency, and pain when urinating, as if they have cystitis, but antibiotics are ineffective. Patients with painless hematuria or long-term, incurable cystitis should seek medical attention promptly and undergo a urine exfoliated cell examination. A small number of bladder cancer patients may not have gross hematuria, but only show excessive red blood cells when examining the urine under a microscope, which is called microscopic hematuria. In addition, the patient may also have microscopic hematuria after the gross hematuria stops on its own. Therefore, patients with microscopic hematuria or abnormal urine routine examination should also undergo urine exfoliated cell examination.

Irregular vaginal bleeding may be a sign of cervical cancer. The early symptoms are a small amount of bloody leucorrhea and contact vaginal bleeding. Patients often come to the doctor because of a small amount of vaginal bleeding after sexual intercourse or defecation. For those who experience vaginal bleeding after menopause, more attention should be paid to finding the cause. Vaginal bleeding caused by cervical cancer is often very irregular, usually a little at first and then more, sometimes more and sometimes less. Cauliflower-shaped bleeding occurs early and in large amounts. When advanced cancer erodes large blood vessels, it can cause fatal, massive vaginal bleeding. Due to long-term repeated bleeding, patients often develop anemia.

Gastric bleeding Gastric or duodenal ulcers and gastric cancer can all cause gastric bleeding. When the blood is acidified by gastric juice, coffee-like liquid may be vomited from the mouth and tarry black stools may be excreted. Patients with chronic gastric ulcers, chronic atrophic gastritis, or those with loss of appetite, weight loss, and anemia should seek medical examination in time to determine whether there is cancer.

Blood in the stool Hemorrhoids are the most common disease that causes blood in the stool. Other conditions such as dry and hard stools or anal fissures can also cause blood in the stool. However, if there is a change in bowel habits, such as an increase or decrease in the number of bowel movements, and sometimes diarrhea and constipation alternate; the patient's stool is often unformed and mixed with mucus, pus and blood; when blood in the stool occurs, the blood is bright red or dark red, attached to the surface of the stool in drops, and the blood is confused with the stool, there is stool in the blood and blood in the stool, and the patient will feel that the frequency of bowel movements has increased, the stool has become thinner, there is abdominal distension or persistent dull pain and other symptoms, you should suspect the presence of colon and rectal cancer, and immediately ask a relevant doctor to perform a digital examination, or further perform a rectal, sigmoidoscopy, barium meal enema X-ray examination, etc. to confirm the diagnosis.

There are many reasons for bleeding, so it is not possible to diagnose cancer based solely on bleeding. If you discover abnormal bleeding, you should consider cancer so as to achieve the goal of early detection and early treatment.
