What are the causes and treatments for heavy bleeding during pregnancy?

It is common to have a small amount of bleeding and a feeling of abdominal heaviness in the second trimester of pregnancy. Sometimes there will be vaginal bleeding, which makes many pregnant women very nervous. Why is there a lot of bleeding in the second trimester of pregnancy? How should we deal with it after bleeding? Today we will talk about the causes of bleeding in the second trimester of pregnancy and how to deal with it. I hope this can help everyone.

Reason 1 for bleeding during the second trimester: Cervical incompetence

Symptoms: Cervical insufficiency is also called internal cervical insufficiency or internal cervical relaxation. Often the cervix cannot withstand the pressure of the growing fetus, and miscarriage occurs. When the cervix dilates, pregnant mothers often have a small amount of bleeding and a feeling that their abdomen is falling, but because this symptom often occurs in the second half of pregnancy and there is no strong uterine contraction, the pain will not be obvious.

Response: It is best for pregnant mothers to go to the hospital for examination. Once cervical insufficiency is confirmed, the doctor will perform a cervical cerclage on the expectant mother. The operation only takes 5 to 10 minutes and is usually performed between 14 and 20 weeks of pregnancy. The effect is also very good.

Reason 2 for bleeding in mid-pregnancy: hydatidiform mole

Symptoms: If the hydatidiform mole is not discovered in the early stages, symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, anemia, and uterine enlargement will usually begin in the middle of pregnancy. More serious symptoms may cause hyperemesis gravidarum, pregnancy-induced hypertension syndrome (proteinuria, hypertension, edema), etc. Most patients with hydatidiform mole have intermittent small amounts of bleeding, but there may be repeated heavy bleeding in the meantime, and sometimes blisters may be found in the blood.

Response: The mother should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible, mainly through uterine dilatation and curettage to remove the hydatidiform mole. But it is worth noting that hydatidiform mole may undergo malignant changes and develop into choriocarcinoma, so expectant mothers must insist on observation and examination.

The above are the methods and reasons we found. We hope that what we have learned can help everyone. Pregnant women must relax themselves when they are pregnant and not be overly nervous or anxious. Finally, we hope that all expectant mothers can give birth to beautiful and healthy babies.
