Early detection of asymptomatic STDs in women

Early detection of asymptomatic STDs in women

A prominent feature of sexually transmitted diseases is that they are asymptomatic in women. Such asymptomatic pathogen carriers can not only become important sources of infection, but their own pathological changes can also continue to progress without symptoms, and even lead to serious consequences without knowing the cause. Therefore, the problem of asymptomatic sexually transmitted diseases in women should be taken seriously.

1. Early detection and early treatment of female sexually transmitted diseases

Female sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia ascending infection, will affect the fallopian tubes, leading to blockage and infertility; although human papillomavirus infection does not cause genital warts, it can also lead to cervical cancer; at the same time, sexually transmitted diseases in women of childbearing age may also involve a series of problems such as pregnancy, childbirth and vertical infection from mother to child.

Therefore, female sexually transmitted diseases should be detected and treated early, especially early treatment of asymptomatic infection foci is extremely important, which is of great significance for preventing female sexually transmitted diseases from developing serious lesions and further endangering health.

2. Women should be cautious if they have the following symptoms

Since the symptoms of STDs in women are not obvious, most of them only have abnormal vaginal discharge, local itching or lower abdominal pain, and having these symptoms does not necessarily mean that they have STDs. A comprehensive analysis must be conducted based on the contact history (direct sexual contact or indirect contact) and whether the spouse has had STDs, and accurate laboratory tests must be performed to confirm the diagnosis. If you experience the following symptoms, you should be cautious.

Symptom 1: Fever

If there is unexplained persistent low-grade fever and the presence of risk factors for infectious sexually transmitted diseases, such as lower abdominal pain, local tenderness, menstrual disorders, etc., it may be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease caused by gonorrhea or chlamydia infection; if there is pain in the vulva and high fever at the same time, genital herpes should be considered.

Symptom 2: Painful urination

Pay attention to whether you have gonococcal urethritis or genital herpes.

Symptom 3: Abnormal leucorrhea

If the leucorrhea increases abnormally and is mucous or purulent, the possibility of gonococcal infection should be considered; if the leucorrhea has a foul odor and the vagina feels irritated, check for vaginal Trichomonas; if "tofu dregs"-like patches are found, it is likely related to a fungal infection.

Symptom 4: Local symptoms

If blisters and shallow ulcers appear on the vulva and recur repeatedly, genital herpes should be considered; the appearance of papillary protrusions on the vulva and around the anus may be an early manifestation of genital warts; if painless nodules appear in a certain area, be alert to syphilis.

3. Those who have the following conditions should go to the hospital for examination

If the above symptoms occur, it is easy to find that you are ill, but most female STD patients have no symptoms. Therefore, you should also go to the hospital for examination if the following situations occur.

1. Those who have had sexual contact with men suffering from urethritis.

2. Women under the age of 25 who have taken the forbidden fruit and it is difficult to determine the detailed health status of the other party.

3. Those who have two or more sexual partners.

4. Those who have extramarital sex without using condoms.

5. The spouse has or has had a sexually transmitted disease.

6. Women who work or live in a social environment where sexually transmitted diseases are prevalent and who have excessive physical contact with unknown males.
