Four self-examination techniques to detect and treat gynecological tumors early

In recent years, the incidence of gynecological tumors in my country has shown a clear and rapid upward trend, and the age of onset is becoming younger and younger. Among them, uterine fibroids and ovarian cysts are the most common benign tumors, while the most common malignant tumors are cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer. The increasing incidence, younger age of patients, and untimely treatment have become increasingly prominent characteristics of gynecological tumors. Gynecologists remind: Gynecological examination is more important than beauty, which includes not only regular physical examinations but also daily self-examinations.

1. Touch the abdomen

This self-examination method is best performed in the morning after emptying your bladder. Women can lie flat on the bed with their legs slightly bent, and touch the lower abdomen from one side to the other, with the force ranging from light to deep. If a lump or hard foreign object is found, it is suspected to be a tumor.

2. Observe bleeding

Abnormal vaginal bleeding is one of the most common symptoms of gynecological tumors. It is mostly caused by tumors in the cervix and uterine body. It may also be due to endocrine changes that manifest as menstrual disorders and abnormal bleeding. If you find that your menstrual flow increases, your periods become irregular, or you have contact bleeding, you should be alert and seek medical attention promptly.

3. Observe leucorrhea

Normal leucorrhea is small in amount, white in color, and slightly sticky. The amount and thinness will vary slightly with the menstrual cycle. However, if there is purulent leucorrhea, bloody leucorrhea, rice-water-like leucorrhea, watery leucorrhea, etc., it is abnormal and may be a cervical tumor or advanced cervical cancer.

4. Feeling of pain

Pain is not an early symptom of a tumor. However, when the tumor is quite large and compresses or invades other organs, it will cause pain, such as pain in the lower abdomen, lower back, sacrum, and coccyx, and pain during sexual intercourse. If the tumor pedicle twists, ruptures or degenerates, it can also cause abdominal pain.

Although self-examination and self-discovery are very important, ordinary people are not doctors after all, and their knowledge of medical knowledge is limited, which may lead to certain omissions. In addition, some gynecological tumors may not have obvious symptoms in the early stages. Therefore, the best way to prevent and detect gynecological tumors early is to have a gynecological examination once a year.
