HCG doubling rate in early pregnancy

HCG doubling rate in early pregnancy

HCG testing is also a test that every pregnant woman must undergo, because through the HCG test, it can effectively infer whether the fetus is implanted and whether there is a risk of ectopic pregnancy. And at each stage of pregnancy, the hcg value in the pregnant woman's body is different. In the early stages of pregnancy, changes in hCG values are more obvious. But what does the doubling speed of hc g in early pregnancy mean?

1. In a survey on HCG values, investigators collected data on the changes in HCG levels of 293 expectant mothers within 2 days. The results showed that only 50% of the expectant mothers' HCG values would double within 2 days.

2. Another survey shows that 53% of expectant mothers' HCG will double within two days, and 75% of expectant mothers will double within three days. The higher the HCG, the longer it takes to double, as shown in the following table:

<1200 mIU/ml takes 48-72 hours to double

1200 to 6000 mIU/ml takes 72-96 hours to double

6000mIU/ml or above requires more than 96 hours to double

3. Ultrasound results are more dependent than HCG and progesterone data. When B-ultrasound examination reveals the fetal heart rate and embryo bud, the importance of HCG and progesterone data is relatively reduced.

4. A low HCG value does not mean that you can take it lightly. So under what circumstances should you worry about your condition? The answer is that when the HCG value drops, or when you have bleeding and abdominal pain, miscarriage may occur. Generally speaking, a decrease in HCG values indicates that the fetus has stopped developing and most cases will result in miscarriage. However, the HCG value will reach its peak at 8 weeks of pregnancy, begin to decline at 9 weeks, and then stabilize at 20 weeks.

5. If you have no symptoms of bleeding or abdominal pain, your risk of miscarriage is relatively low.

6. HCG varies from person to person. There is no comparability between people. You can only compare with your own value. Because each person's menstrual cycle is different, the time of implantation is also different. No one can accurately calculate the actual number of days of their baby during early pregnancy. Doctors calculate according to the last menstrual period, which is obviously unreasonable for some expectant mothers. Expectant mothers worry that their values are lower than others. Will the baby not develop well? In fact, there is no need to worry about this. As long as your HCG is increasing, it's fine.
