How to improve ovarian reserve function?

The health of the ovaries is extremely important for women because the ovaries are the key organs for women to secrete various hormones. At the same time, the biggest function of the ovaries is to produce eggs, which is the basis for pregnancy. Excess eggs will exist in the ovaries in the form of follicles, and the better the ovarian storage function, the more beneficial it is to the eggs. How to improve ovarian reserve function?

Ovarian reserve reflects the quantity and quality of eggs and reflects a woman's reproductive potential.

Poor ovarian reserve refers to a decrease in the number of recruitable follicles remaining in the ovaries and a decline in oocyte quality, which can lead to reduced fertility or a tendency to premature menopause.

Age is the most important factor in determining ovarian reserve function. As age increases, the number and quality of follicles decrease significantly. Fertility begins to decline at the age of 30, and the prevalence of infertility increases significantly after the age of 35.

The small ovarian volume at the basal level is related to the reduction in primordial follicles in ovarian reserve and the small number of growing follicles. Ovarian volume ≤3 ml indicates that the number of follicles developing and the number of eggs obtained during the IVF cycle are small, and the cycle cancellation rate is increased. However, ovarian volume alone cannot be used as a predictor of ovarian reserve.

Generally, only 400 to 500 follicles can develop, mature and ovulate in a woman's lifetime. One dominant follicle is lost in each menstrual cycle. As women age, the number of follicles in their ovaries decreases until their ovaries atrophy after menopause.

Lifestyle intervention

Eat more fresh vegetables, fruits, fish, lean meat, etc. on a daily basis, especially foods rich in vitamins and polyunsaturated fatty acids. Maintain a happy mood, reduce life and work stress, avoid staying up late, strengthen your physical fitness, and engage in appropriate physical and mental activities.

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) DHEA is a hormone with androgenic activity secreted by the adrenal glands, central nervous system, and ovarian theca cells, and is converted into more active androgens and estrogens in peripheral tissues.

Chinese medicine conditioning

Traditional Chinese medicine treatment (cyclical therapy, single prescription, acupuncture, etc.) has the characteristics of multi-system, multi-link, multi-target, and overall regulation. It can improve the ovarian response to gonadotropin and the content of hormone receptors in the ovary, thereby improving ovarian reserve function.
