Girl frequently gets her nails done, and a Maserati logo appears on her fingernails! Doctor: Cut it off quickly

It is said that hands are a woman's second "face", and manicure has become a standard for beauty lovers. The shiny "fingertip art" instantly makes people feel full of atmosphere. However, such beautiful manicure may also hide health risks.

Girl frequently gets her nails done, and the "Maserati" logo appears on her hand

Shanshan (pseudonym), a 24-year-old girl from Hangzhou, is a heavy nail art enthusiast. She can hardly accept her nails being "naked". In order to keep them fresh, she tries different nail art styles every now and then. Her nails often change color every 3 days and change styles every 7 days. Today they are pastoral style, next week they are retro style, and the week after that they are macaron style...

Not long ago, Shanshan found a piece of extra "flesh" on her nail! As time went by, the piece of flesh grew bigger and bigger, and gradually grew into the shape of a "trident". Because this shape is a bit like the brand logo of "Maserati" cars, her friends joked that her hand would soon receive "a world of wealth".

Shanshan had a feeling that trouble was coming. What on earth was this strange lump of flesh? Was it serious? Was it a malignant tumor?

In order to clarify the issue, she found Zhong Jianbo, deputy chief physician of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology at Hangzhou First People's Hospital.

This strange growth turned out to be a tumor

After the examination, Zhong Jianbo found that the "Maserati" growing on Shanshan's nails was actually a kind of hyperplastic granulation tissue. After a comprehensive evaluation, he diagnosed Shanshan's growth as periungual fibroma. Most periungual fibroma are caused by trauma, and combined with her experience, she believed that the main cause of Shanshan's illness was long-term manicure.

Zhong Jianbo said that when doing manicure, a layer of "wearing nail" is often covered on the original nail. Under the long-term pressure of wearing nail, cracks are easy to appear at the bottom of the nail. At the same time, improper manicure or excessively frequent manicure will damage the nail matrix and the tissues around the nail matrix, which is easy to cause tissue inflammation and abnormal proliferation. The hyperplastic tissue will grow out of the gap and invade the original nail plate growth site.

"A piece of nail polish may seem weightless, but it actually puts a great burden on the nails. Moreover, during the manicure process, whether it is nail polish or operation techniques, it will cause damage to the nails." Zhong Jianbo said that manicures must be done with restraint and should never be done frequently.

When doing manicure, girls should pay attention to these points

People who often do manicures will have this feeling. After doing manicures frequently for a period of time, they will feel that the surface of the nails becomes rough and brittle. This is because many nail polishes themselves contain harmful substances such as formaldehyde that can corrode the nails. In addition, during the manicure process, the nails must be filed and polished, etc., which will damage the health of the nails.

Zhong Jianbo said that in the outpatient clinic, there are many female patients who have nail problems due to frequent manicures. Many patients also suffer from onychomycosis (onychomycosis) due to frequent manicures. This is a chronic infectious nail disease caused by fungi invading the nail plate and nail bed. Generally speaking, the nail plate is well protected by the cuticle, but excessive exfoliation and polishing will reduce the resistance of the nails. At this time, if the manicure tools are not thoroughly disinfected, it is easy to get infected.

Zhong Jianbo suggested that manicures should not be done too frequently. It is best to wait for half a month to a month to give the nails time to recover. In addition, try to wear nails as little as possible to avoid burdening the nails. Do not remove the nails violently to prevent secondary damage to the nails. Go to a regular nail salon for manicures and use personal nail equipment or disposable products as much as possible to reduce the risk of infection.

Daily trimming of nails is also very important. When trimming nails, they should be cut into a slight arc, and the side angles on both sides should not be cut off. The surface of the nail plate should not be polished, and try not to trim the cuticle.
