Pay attention to the life of the elderly and watch over the silver age life. In order to implement the "Silver Age Science Popularization" action in depth, build a silver age science popularization publicity system of "offline as the main, online as the supplement, online and offline combined", improve the scientific literacy and digital skills of the elderly, and better help the elderly adapt to the changes in the information society, Quanzhou Science and Technology Association, Quanzhou Open University, and Quanzhou Radio and Television Station launched the "Old Life Museum" column.

Take care of the "health scam" that specifically targets the elderly

According to media reports, some people online are selling courses under the guise of traditional Chinese medicine to make money. In fact, those lecturers who claim to be "descendants of miracle doctors" or "famous traditional Chinese medicine teachers" have no training qualifications at all.

In this regard, Xinhuanet published an article pointing out that the health care scam is not new. One of the tricks is to exaggerate and exploit the health anxieties of the elderly.

As they age, the body functions of the elderly deteriorate, and they are often prone to health anxiety. The schemers seize and magnify this mentality, using rhetoric such as "poor sleep and poor appetite are caused by insufficient Qi and blood" and "it is always cheaper to buy a course now than to go to the hospital later" to defraud the elderly of their money.

In recent years, as more and more elderly people have become "fingertip people", "health scams" have also moved online. Scammers use different online platforms to attract, induce, and sell, with more tricks and more covert means, making supervision more difficult. Faced with various advertising pushes and "deceptive rhetoric" that is difficult to distinguish between true and false, the elderly are very likely to "get involved".

The commentary believes that efforts must be continued to intensify against "health scams" that specifically target the elderly, and illegal organizations and individuals who use the guise of treating illnesses to engage in false propaganda, fraud and misleading must be dealt with severely. An information-based and networked law enforcement supervision system should be established among multiple departments, and big data monitoring and other means should be used in combination to further strengthen the supervision of health products.

In January this year, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Developing the Silver Economy and Improving the Welfare of the Elderly", which proposed many specific and targeted measures to meet the health needs of the elderly, such as encouraging the research and development of health foods and special medical formula foods suitable for the chewing, swallowing and nutritional requirements of the elderly; promoting the application of smart nursing robots, home service robots, smart anti-lost terminals and other smart devices.

Perhaps, if we get closer to the elderly, they will be further away from "health scams."

There are some rules for winter tonics. Chinese medicine reminds: People with damp-heat and phlegm-damp constitutions should not take tonics at will

As the saying goes, "It is better to take supplements during the Frost Descent than in the Winter." After the Frost Descent, you must master the tricks of taking supplements. You should neither take too warm supplements nor take too cold supplements that will hurt your stomach.

There are some rules for winter tonic! Which people should not take tonic at will?

Quanzhou has a subtropical monsoon climate, which makes the autumn, which should be cool and dry, mild and humid. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the human body is still dry on the outside and wet on the inside at this time. If you use traditional four-ingredient duck soup, angelica pepper mutton soup, etc. to nourish the body, it is easy to cause phlegm and dampness to accumulate in the body, and it may also induce or aggravate obesity, increase blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipids, and cause fatigue, dizziness, heaviness, abdominal pain and diarrhea, etc.

Traditional Chinese medicine reminds that in Quanzhou, people should eat less spicy and hot foods such as pepper, dried ginger, red ginseng, chili peppers, and fried foods after the Frost Descent. They can appropriately supplement foods that nourish yin, moisten dryness, nourish the lungs and soften the liver, such as pears, lilies, sugar cane, white fungus, radish, and ginkgo. Supplements should be adjusted according to different physical conditions. People with damp-heat or phlegm-damp constitutions should add white radish, tangerine peel, and five-fingered peach tonic foods that strengthen the spleen and remove phlegm-dampness.

In traditional Chinese medicine theory, the liver is known as the "general's office" and plays an important role in the release of qi and blood storage. "All diseases start from the liver." The ancients said, "When frost begins to fall, all work stops." The human body, like nature, is prone to lack of water (blood) nourishment. After frost falls, the body's qi, blood, and essence conform to the physiological characteristics of autumn harvest and winter storage, and most of them return to the internal organs, and the extremities and hair cannot be fully nourished by qi and blood. Many people experience hair loss, dry skin, blurred vision, insomnia, irritability... These are all manifestations of insufficient liver blood.

Daily life: The temperature difference between morning and evening is gradually increasing, so be careful to keep warm when going out. Do not stay up late to avoid damaging the liver blood. The feet are the "second heart" of the human body. Soaking your feet in hot water for 20 minutes every night and massaging the "ground tendons" in the center of the soles of the feet can nourish and protect the liver and promote liver metabolism.

Emotional regulation: At the end of autumn, the liver qi is prone to stagnation, leading to depression, insomnia, dizziness, chest and flank distension, abdominal distension and pain, fatigue, irritability, dry mouth and throat, etc. At this time, you should learn to follow nature, adjust your mood, and keep your mood comfortable.
