Tenosynovitis has become a common epidemic disease

In daily life

Our hands bear a heavy burden.

Do housework, work, play with mobile phone

Day by day

One day I suddenly found that my fingers were not as flexible.

Not only does it feel stuck when bending

It still hurts to move.

Sometimes there will be popping noises

This situation is likely to be suffering from finger tenosynovitis

How does tenosynovitis occur?

How to prevent it?

Let’s watch together

01What is a tendon sheath? The tendon sheath is a double-layered, tube-like, closed synovial tube that wraps around the tendon. It is a synovial sheath that protects the tendon. It surrounds the tendon in two layers. The cavity between the two layers is the synovial cavity, which contains synovial fluid of the tendon sheath. The inner layer is closely attached to the tendon, and the outer layer is lined inside the tendon fiber sheath. Together with the bone surface, it has the functions of fixing, protecting and lubricating, and protecting it from friction or compression.

02What is tenosynovitis ? The tendon sheath is located near the joints of the hands and feet, around the long tendons of the muscles. Since these parts are frequently active and have many chances of injury, if you don't pay attention, long-term friction, chronic strain or cold stimulation can cause aseptic inflammatory reactions in the tendons and tendon sheaths, and local exudation and edema can occur. Over time, the tendon sheath becomes organized, the sheath wall becomes thick, the lumen is narrowed, and the movement of the tendon in the tendon sheath is restricted, causing clinical symptoms (pain and dysfunction), which is tenosynovitis.

These may cause tendonitis

1. Overwork: Repeating a certain action for a long time may cause excessive wear of the tendon sheath.

2 Cold stimulation: In a cold environment, the blood circulation of the tendon sheath and tendon is obstructed, which can easily cause inflammation.

3 Trauma: Trauma to the hand such as impact, squeezing, etc. may cause tendon sheath injury.

4. Underlying diseases: such as rheumatoid arthritis, gout, etc., may also cause tenosynovitis.

Tenosynovitis prone areas

The most common tenosynovitis are radial styloid stenosing tenosynovitis and digital flexor tenosynovitis .

0 3 How to self-diagnose and deal with tenosynovitis
Self-diagnosis of tenosynovitis <br /> Flexor tenosynovitis: The pain is at the metacarpophalangeal joint, where there is usually a protrusion. In the early stage, there is pain, and in the later stage, there may be limited flexion and extension of the fingers, with a popping sound, commonly known as trigger finger.

Radial styloid tenosynovitis: First, place the thumb close to the palm, gently hold the thumb with the other four fingers, and turn the fist towards the little finger. If you feel severe pain in the wrist, it may be tenosynovitis.

Relieve and treat tenosynovitis 1. When the pain of tenosynovitis is severe, you can apply ice compress, wrap ice cubes in a towel, for half an hour at a time, 3-4 times a day. Do not apply hot compress at this time, as hot compress will only aggravate the symptoms.
2 Rest and reduce frequent activities of the affected part. This is the most important treatment.

3. If there is no obvious change or worsening after 5-7 days of the above treatment, it is recommended to go to the hospital for treatment.

0 4 How to prevent tenosynovitis 1 It is best to use warm water when washing hands, vegetables and dishes, instead of cold water. Prevent frostbite on your hands when going out in winter or doing outdoor sports.
2 Pay attention to the correct posture of your fingers and wrists when doing housework, and avoid over-bending or over-extending them.

3 Avoid staying in one posture for a long time, such as carrying things or holding a mobile phone, as this can easily cause strain over time.

4 When working at a desk for a long time or frequently using a computer, you should adopt the correct working posture, try to keep your hands balanced, and your wrists able to touch the objects instead of hanging in the air. You can use human body mechanics and use mouse pads and keyboard pads to prevent this.

5. Exercise more and use your mobile phone in moderation. It is best to take a break and move your finger joints every half an hour when using your mobile phone. When playing with your mobile phone, use both hands alternately or pull your fingers in the opposite direction to relax the finger tendons.

6 When you feel tired in your joints, you can take a hot bath to relieve tense muscles, or apply hot compress to the sore areas.
