These may be the main reasons for children's myopia.

Are there any habits that, if maintained, can be helpful in preventing myopia?

1. Good home lighting environment

When using your eyes, ensure that there is sufficient indoor light. Naked lamps should not be used for home lighting. When reading and writing at night, the desk lamp and the ceiling light in the room should be used at the same time, and the desk lamp should be placed correctly to create a comfortable reading and writing environment.

2. Improve your eye posture at close range

Many children have incorrect postures when reading and writing, and using their eyes at close range leads to myopia. Children should follow the "three ones" and "no tilt of the head" when reading and writing.

3. Shorten the time of using eyes at close range

Nowadays, children use electronic products more and more frequently, so parents should monitor their children's eye use. Continuous close-up eye use should be controlled within 20 to 30 minutes, and then look into the distance of 20 feet and relax the eyes for at least 20 seconds.

4. Increase outdoor activities

Studies have shown that natural light can stimulate the eye to secrete dopamine, effectively inhibit the growth of the eye axis, and play a role in preventing myopia. It is generally recommended to spend at least 2 hours outdoors in the sun every day, rather than focusing on long outdoor activities on weekends. Even outdoor activities on cloudy days can prevent and control myopia.
