However, myocardial enzymes are not only present in the heart, but also in skeletal muscle, kidney, liver and other organs. When these organs are damaged by hepatitis, muscle injury or strenuous exercise, myocardial enzymes will also increase. Therefore, doctors will not directly diagnose heart disease when they find elevated myocardial enzymes, but will combine the patient's symptoms, medical history and further examinations.
