Daily behaviors that focus on children's hearing

01

Pay attention to children's hearing health

Preschool is an important period for the development of children's language and cognitive abilities. Hearing loss during this stage is generally not easily discovered by parents in time. Therefore, if it is not discovered in time, the best time for intervention will be missed, which will have a serious impact on the baby's speech development, learning ability, social interaction, and physical and mental development.

02

Please check these situations promptly!

1. Parents often need to repeat themselves when communicating with children.

2. Speech development is delayed, the child does not speak or only speaks one or two words.

3. The child shows obvious slowness in responding to speech sounds.

4. When calling children or other sounds are made, the source of the sound cannot be found.

5. Speak loudly, even in quiet situations.

6. Inaccurate pronunciation, unclear speech, and staring at the other person's mouth when talking to others.

7. School teachers reported that the child was inattentive in class, answered questions irrelevantly to the teacher's questions, and was unwilling to communicate and play with other students.

03

What should I do if my child has hearing problems?

1. For hearing impairment that cannot be treated, it is necessary to choose appropriate hearing aids as soon as possible.

Generally speaking, patients with mild to moderate hearing impairment or above should choose hearing aids for hearing compensation first. They can also use related auxiliary listening equipment to achieve better listening and communication.

When hearing aids cannot achieve satisfactory compensation effects, consideration can be given to implanting a cochlear implant or an artificial auditory brainstem for hearing reconstruction, thereby improving the quality of life and enabling normal participation in society.

2. After wearing appropriate hearing aids, it is recommended to go to a professional rehabilitation institution to receive systematic rehabilitation guidance.

Professional rehabilitation teachers conduct relevant assessments, develop individualized rehabilitation training goals, and use auditory-oral methods to conduct individualized rehabilitation training.
