In general geriatric medicine, exercise rehabilitation and functional training play a vital role. With the intensification of the aging trend of the population, the health problems of the elderly are becoming increasingly prominent, among which the incidence and disability rate of chronic diseases remain high. Therefore, how to improve the physical function of the elderly, improve the quality of life, and prevent the occurrence and development of chronic diseases through scientific and systematic exercise rehabilitation and functional training has become a research hotspot in the field of general geriatric medicine. This article will review the standardization research of exercise rehabilitation and functional training in general geriatric medicine, in order to provide a reference for the further development of this field. 1. The importance of exercise rehabilitation and functional training in geriatric general medicine As the elderly age, their physical functions gradually decline, such as weakened muscle strength, reduced joint flexibility, and decreased balance ability. These changes not only affect the elderly's ability to take care of themselves in daily life, but also increase the risk of falls and fractures. At the same time, the elderly are also facing the threat of a variety of chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. These diseases not only affect the physical health of the elderly, but may also lead to a decline in quality of life and impaired social function [1,2]. Therefore, it is of great practical significance to improve the physical function of the elderly, improve the quality of life, and prevent the occurrence and development of chronic diseases through exercise rehabilitation and functional training. 2. Standardization of exercise rehabilitation and functional training in geriatric general medicine 1. Evaluation and monitoring of sports rehabilitation and functional training In general geriatric medicine, exercise rehabilitation is an important means to restore and improve the physical function of the elderly. Before starting exercise rehabilitation, a comprehensive physical function assessment is an indispensable step. This assessment process includes careful consideration of muscle strength, joint flexibility, balance ability, cardiopulmonary function and many other aspects. Through these assessments, we can gain an in-depth understanding of the physical condition of the elderly and provide a strong basis for subsequent rehabilitation plans. In the process of exercise rehabilitation, regular physical function monitoring is equally important. This helps us to understand the changes in the physical condition of the elderly in a timely manner and adjust the rehabilitation plan according to the actual situation. This continuous monitoring not only ensures the scientific nature of exercise rehabilitation, but also improves its pertinence and effectiveness. Functional training also plays an important role in geriatric general medicine. It aims to improve the elderly's ability to take care of themselves in daily life, so that they can better integrate into society and enjoy their later years. Before starting functional training, we also need to conduct a comprehensive physical function assessment. In addition to covering various indicators in sports rehabilitation, this assessment also needs to pay special attention to the elderly's daily life needs and mobility. During the functional training process, regular physical function monitoring is also essential. Through monitoring, we can understand the performance of the elderly in their daily lives and the impact of functional training on them. This monitoring not only helps us evaluate the training effect, but also provides us with valuable feedback to help us continuously optimize the training plan. 2. Development of personalized sports rehabilitation and functional training plans It is very important to develop a personalized exercise rehabilitation and functional training plan based on the physical function and chronic disease status of the elderly. When developing a plan, we need to comprehensively consider factors such as the age, gender, weight, and medical history of the elderly to ensure that the training content, intensity, and frequency are in line with the actual situation of the elderly. For exercise rehabilitation programs, we need to design appropriate training movements and intensities based on the results of the elderly's physical function assessment [3]. For elderly people with chronic diseases, we also need to pay special attention to avoiding movements and intensities that may induce the disease. At the same time, we also need to ensure that the training program is sustainable enough so that the elderly can stick to it in their daily lives. In terms of functional training, we need to design training programs that can improve the elderly's self-care ability based on their daily life needs and mobility. These programs should be sufficiently targeted and practical to help the elderly better cope with various challenges in their daily lives. 3. Implementation and supervision of sports rehabilitation and functional training When implementing sports rehabilitation and functional training, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the training is our top priority. Therefore, we need professionals to provide guidance and supervision to promptly detect and correct the elderly's incorrect movements and bad habits during training. At the same time, we also need to ensure that the training venues and equipment meet safety standards to provide a safe and comfortable training environment for the elderly. 4.Effect evaluation and feedback of sports rehabilitation and functional training After the completion of sports rehabilitation and functional training, we need to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the training effect. This evaluation includes not only the improvement of the physical function of the elderly, but also the control of chronic diseases, improvement of quality of life and other aspects. Through the evaluation, we can understand the actual effect of the training and provide a reference for subsequent training plans. At the same time, we also need to provide timely feedback of the evaluation results to the elderly and their families. This will not only enhance their confidence and motivation in training, but also provide them with valuable advice and guidance to help them better maintain their health in daily life. IV. Conclusion and Outlook The standardized research on exercise rehabilitation and functional training in geriatric general medicine has important practical significance and broad application prospects. Through scientific and systematic exercise rehabilitation and functional training, the physical function of the elderly can be significantly improved, the quality of life can be improved, and the occurrence and development of chronic diseases can be prevented. In the future, research and exploration in this field should be further strengthened, and the standardized system and technical means of exercise rehabilitation and functional training should be continuously improved to protect the health of the elderly.
