April 9 is International Stomach Health Day. Let us protect our stomach together.

Today is April 9th, International Stomach Protection Day

International Stomach Health Day, also known as World Stomach Health Day, was originally intended to arouse the global public's attention to stomach health. In the spring of 2006, April 9 was jointly selected by the International Natural Medicine and Health Engineering Research Association and the World Health Management Alliance as the first "International Stomach Health Day". With this as the starting point, we have jointly entered a new era of stomach health.

The stomach, as one of the core organs of our body, is directly related to the nutrition supply and energy conversion of our whole body. According to the statistics of the World Health Organization at the end of 2005, the incidence of gastric disease in the world is as high as an astonishing 80%, and this number is still increasing at an annual rate of 17.43%. What is more worrying is that in recent years, the incidence of gastric disease has gradually become younger, and the proportion of middle-aged patients has also been rising year by year, which undoubtedly sounded the alarm for us.

Time flies, and April 9, 2024 is the International Stomach Health Day again. According to statistics, the incidence of stomach diseases in my country has reached 85%, which is a shocking figure. A recent in-depth survey data from the Chinese Medical Association and other institutions further revealed that the incidence of digestive tract diseases such as chronic gastritis is showing a clear trend of younger people. Among young people aged 23-34 in my country, the proportion of patients with chronic gastritis is increasing year by year, which undoubtedly sounded the alarm for the stomach health of our young generation. Therefore, whether for ourselves or for our family and friends, we should cherish the health of our stomach more, start from the little things in our daily life, cultivate good eating habits, and have regular physical examinations, so that a healthy stomach can become a solid backing for our happy life.

How do we protect our stomach in daily life? Here are some tips on how to protect your stomach. The stomach is an important digestive organ in our body, and its health is directly related to our quality of life.

So, how should we care for it in our daily life?

1. Eat a healthy diet and chew slowly

First of all, diet is the key to protecting the stomach. We should avoid overly greasy, spicy, raw and cold foods, which may irritate the gastric mucosa and cause discomfort. Instead, we should choose light and easily digestible foods, such as porridge, noodles, steamed vegetables, etc. In addition, we should chew slowly and fully chew food when eating to reduce the digestive burden of the stomach.

2. Keep a regular schedule and avoid staying up late

Irregular work and rest schedules and staying up late often disrupt the body's biological clock and affect the normal function of the stomach. Therefore, we should maintain a regular work and rest schedule, go to bed early and get up early, so that the stomach can digest and rest at the right time.

3. Exercise moderately to enhance physical fitness

Proper exercise can promote blood circulation, accelerate metabolism, and help improve gastrointestinal function. We can choose light exercise such as walking, jogging, yoga, etc. to avoid strenuous exercise that puts a burden on the stomach.

4. Feel happy and reduce stress

Emotional stability also has a great impact on the health of the stomach. Being in a state of tension and anxiety for a long time may cause gastrointestinal dysfunction. Therefore, we must learn to regulate our emotions, keep a happy mood, and reduce stress in life and work.

5. Regular inspection and timely detection

Finally, regular physical examinations are also an important means of protecting the stomach. Through gastroscopy and other methods, stomach diseases can be discovered and treated in time to prevent the condition from worsening. In short, protecting the stomach needs to start from the little things in life. As long as we pay attention to diet, work and rest, exercise, emotions, etc., we can make the stomach serve us healthily.
