Night Listening | Understand the difference between "aerobic" and "anaerobic" to solve 70% of your sports problems!

In the national fitness trend, there are two words that you must be familiar with - aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise.

Some people only understand it literally, thinking that anaerobic exercise is exercise that consumes less oxygen, while some people think that anaerobic exercise is exercise that does not make you sweat much, while aerobic exercise will make you sweat profusely; and some people think that aerobic exercise is responsible for fat loss, while anaerobic exercise is responsible for muscle growth...

So how are these two movement modes defined? And what is the relationship between them?

In fact, the difference between these two exercise modes lies in the different ways of providing energy. Aerobic exercise mainly uses aerobic metabolism to provide the energy needed for exercise. Correspondingly, anaerobic exercise naturally refers to the exercise mode that provides energy through anaerobic metabolism.

It sounds like there is a clear boundary, but in fact, aerobic and anaerobic energy supply rarely exist independently, and often multiple energy supply methods work at the same time. Therefore, the so-called aerobic or anaerobic exercise is only distinguished according to the main energy supply method.

As the pace of life accelerates and work pressure increases, many people regard "reducing fat and weight" as a task in their lives in order to maintain health and figure. Among them, anaerobic exercise, like aerobic exercise, has a good fat-reducing effect.

Fat is the energy reserve in our body. As long as we consume energy, we will naturally consume fat. However, aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise consume energy in different time periods. Aerobic exercise mainly consumes energy during exercise, while anaerobic exercise will continue to consume energy after the exercise ends and reduce the possibility of energy conversion into fat.

In addition to burning energy and reducing fat storage, anaerobic exercise also has the benefit of body shaping.

Many people are afraid that anaerobic exercise will make them have big legs and shoulders. This is not only an "overthinking", but also greatly reduces the efficiency of your fat loss project! Although anaerobic exercise has the effect of increasing muscle, if you want to build a big body, you can't just lift weights in your spare time. Moreover, as the muscle content increases, the basal metabolism will also increase, and the body consumes more energy, which is more conducive to our fat loss.
