1. Heart disease is a general term for cardiovascular diseases, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, etc. Once there is a problem with the heart, it will not only lead to a decline in the quality of life, but also affect other organs of the body, and even endanger life in severe cases.

2. The Guangdong Communist Youth League, in conjunction with a team of experts and professors from the Heart Prevention and Assessment Center of Zhongshan First Hospital, conducted a large-scale survey on the heart safety status of young people across the province, relying on the self-built Guangdong Youth Survey Questionnaire System. Survey data showed that only a quarter (25.79%) of young people "attached great importance to and took the initiative to learn" heart safety knowledge, and this proportion among college students was even less than 20% (17.20%).

3. In recent years, the incidence of heart disease has increased year by year, and the trend of heart disease becoming younger is becoming increasingly obvious. It is no longer a "patent" of the elderly. Many habits in daily life can lead to heart disease, such as smoking, drinking, staying up late, sitting for a long time, unhealthy diet, etc. Taking hypertension as an example, survey data show that the prevalence (awareness rate) of hypertension among primary school students, middle school students, and college students is 0.2%, 0.7%, and 1.2%, respectively.

4. Cardiovascular disease has gradually become the "number one killer" threatening human health worldwide. Each of us should take good care of our hearts. We can take actions in our daily lives: maintain a healthy lifestyle, quit smoking and limit alcohol, maintain a healthy diet, exercise moderately, control weight, etc.; we should also have regular check-ups, maintain a good attitude, and control blood pressure, blood sugar and blood lipid levels.

5. World Heart Day was established in 1999 with the aim of raising awareness of cardiovascular disease and its risk factors; its purpose is to encourage people to change their static lifestyle into active actions, starting with exercise and gradually taking actions to control the risk factors of heart disease.

6. The heart has been silently carrying the burden for us. Please cherish your health and life, and treasure every beat of your heart.
