Do you have repeated dreams? Is there something wrong with your body? Doctors: There are three types of sleep conditions, which may be your body's cry for help

Have you ever experienced this during sleep?

Xiaomei (pseudonym) is a programmer who works in front of the computer for more than ten hours every day, and often works until late at night to complete tasks. Although she loves her job very much, this high-intensity work life has gradually exhausted her body and her mental state has become worse and worse.

One night, Xiaomei went to bed early, but couldn't fall asleep. She tossed and turned in bed, feeling irritable and uneasy, as if an invisible hand had grabbed her heart, preventing her from getting a peaceful sleep.

Although Xiaomei fell asleep, she had another dream and woke up suddenly, sweating all over, and her heartbeat became very fast. She felt as if she had not slept all night and was very tired.

Sleep is an essential physiological need for the human body, helping the body and brain to recover and repair. Sleep problems are a common problem faced by modern people, and recurring dreams may be one of them.

However, recurring dreams may also be the body's distress signal, so we need to pay attention to it.

Why do we have recurring dreams?

There is a period of sleep called rapid eye movement (REM) when the body is most active, with faster breathing and heart rates, and we tend to dream. During this stage, our brain activity is as high as when we are awake, or even higher. During REM, our eyes also move rapidly back and forth in their sockets.

The following situations may be the cause of recurring dreams:

**Excessive stress:** Excessive stress from work, school, interpersonal relationships, etc. may cause recurring dreams.

**Anxiety and Depression:** Feelings of anxiety and depression may also lead to recurring dreams.

**Physical Discomfort or Illness:** Some physical discomfort or illnesses, such as stomachache, headache, heart disease, etc., may also cause recurring dreams.

These sleep phenomena

Or it may be a "help signal" sent by the body

Sometimes we experience unpleasant dreams during sleep, such as recurring nightmares, physical pain or injury in dreams, etc. These phenomena may be the body's distress signals, indicating that there may be certain health problems.

▶ Repeated nightmares usually mean that our mental state is unstable. Long-term stress, anxiety, depression and other emotions will affect the quality of sleep and make us prone to nightmares.

▶ If you experience physical pain or injury in your dreams, it may be that your body is sending out a distress signal. In this case, you may need to check if there is something wrong with your body.

▶ Waking up suddenly and feeling a rapid heartbeat or shortness of breath may also be the body calling for help. This phenomenon often occurs when an emergency occurs in a dream or a serious problem occurs in the body, and our body will automatically react in this way.

When the above situations occur, we need to pay attention to our physical health. If these situations occur frequently, it is recommended to seek medical attention in time.

How to improve sleep quality?

**1. Establish healthy sleeping habits: **Go to bed on time, maintain a regular sleeping time and sleeping environment, relax your body and mind before going to bed, etc.

**2. Improve your lifestyle: **Avoid bad habits such as drinking and smoking, exercise properly, maintain healthy eating habits, etc.

**3. Seek medical help: **If sleep problems affect your quality of life, you can consider seeking medical help, such as consulting a psychologist, seeking Chinese medicine treatment, etc.

Improving sleep quality requires us to pay more attention to and care for our bodies in our daily lives, avoid stress and anxiety as much as possible, and deal with physical discomfort or illness in a timely manner. If you still feel troubled, you should consult a professional doctor or psychologist in time.
