On February 15, a Beijing Daily reporter learned from the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone’s official account "Beijing Yizhuang" that two vaccination sites in the Economic and Technological Development Zone have added a bivalent new coronavirus variant vaccine on the basis of the original four new coronavirus vaccine types, namely, Annoen developed by Sinocell Corporation.

Sinocell announced that the COVID-19 recombinant protein bivalent vaccine developed by it has officially started to be vaccinated in Beijing recently. This is the first broad-spectrum multivalent COVID-19 vaccine in China targeting mutant strains. Clinical research data show that it has the advantages of safety and immune persistence.

In early December 2022, Sinocell's recombinant protein bivalent COVID-19 vaccine AnnoN was approved for emergency use, and was subsequently recommended in the "Implementation Plan for the Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccine Booster Immunization".

A relevant person in charge of Sinocell introduced that Annoen has been shipped and has arrived at various districts and counties and vaccination units in Beijing. Citizens who meet the vaccination conditions can consult nearby vaccination points and make an appointment for vaccination.

It is reported that Anonen is the first broad-spectrum multivalent COVID-19 vaccine in China targeting variants. In preclinical animal models and clinical human trials, Anonen can induce uniform and ultra-high neutralizing antibody titers against virus variants Alpha, Beta, Delta and Omicron.

Phase III clinical studies abroad showed that in the population with an inactivated vaccine background, the titer of induced true virus neutralizing antibodies against the BA.1 and BA.5 variants of Omicron reached the superior efficacy standard 28 days after vaccination with Anonen.

After Beijing, Annun will also carry out vaccination in other provinces across the country.
