According to the recent news, according to the data of "China Smart Tablet Retail Market Monthly Tracking" released by research institution Luotu Technology, in 2024, the shipment volume of China's consumer-grade smart tablet market will be 28.792 million units, a year-on-year increase of 2.2% compared with 2023. In 2024, in terms of sales volume in the online market, Apple, Huawei, Xiaomi, Honor, and Lenovo ranked in the top five, with a combined share of 69.1%, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9 percentage points. Apple's online sales share fell the most, with a drop of 10.2 percentage points to 27.4%, and the year-on-year decline in sales was as high as 22.7%.

Among domestic brands, Huawei's performance has increased most significantly, thanks to its many advantages such as the cross-device collaboration of the Hongmeng system . Its market share in the online market has increased by 5.6 percentage points from 2023 to 20.8%, and its sales have soared by 45.2% year-on-year.

Huawei has a more significant advantage in the offline market, with a market share of nearly 50%.

In terms of products, the price of Huawei MatePad 11.5″S has dropped to 1,699 yuan after enjoying national subsidies. The popularity of this product has effectively made up for the shortcomings of its own mid- and low-end products.

Xiaomi's sales market share in the online market increased by 1.5 percentage points to 11.1% from 2023, with sales growth reaching 23.0%, thanks in large part to the strong performance of Xiaomi Tablet 6 Pro.

Luotu Technology believes that the reason for Apple's decline in the Chinese market is still the intensified market competition, while its own products are not cost-effective enough, making it unable to cope with the situation.

Although Apple has launched price reduction campaigns, it has not yet sunk to the mid-to-low price range. At the same time, innovative functions are relatively lagging behind.

Specifically, the iPad's iterations in core experiences such as screen size and interaction methods (such as stylus and keyboard adaptation) are slow, and are far from keeping up with the upgrade pace of domestic smart tablets.
