IDC: Vivo will rank first in China's mobile phone market share in Q3 2024

The latest report from research firm IDC shows that vivo is still the number one in the Chinese mobile phone market in the third quarter of this year. In the third quarter of 2024, China's smartphone market shipments will be about 68.78 million units, a year-on-year increase of 3.2%, maintaining year-on-year growth for four consecutive quarters. The arrival of a new round of replacement cycles has led to continued improvement in market demand.

Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi and other manufacturers performed well in the market, driving the Android market to grow by 3.8% year-on-year. After the launch of Apple's new products, market demand did not change significantly, and iOS market shipments fell by 0.3% year-on-year.

Specifically, vivo continued to rank first in the Chinese smartphone market in the third quarter, and its combined shipments in the first three quarters of this year also remained first.

Thanks to the launch of new products of the year, Apple returned to the top five in the Chinese market with a market share of 15.6%.

Huawei's market share in the third quarter was 15.3%, ranking third. After returning to China, it has achieved double-digit year-on-year growth for four consecutive quarters.

With the increase in product promotion efforts, Huawei has taken the first place in the 4000-8000 yuan market share in the absence of new products. The world's first triple-folding screen mobile phone is expected to further promote the development of the folding screen mobile phone market from the perspectives of hardware, software and usage scenarios.

Xiaomi's domestic market shipments maintained year-on-year growth for the fifth consecutive quarter, and in the third quarter it rose to fourth place with a market share of 14.8%.

Honor ranked fifth with a market share of 14.6%. The X50 set a precedent for high-value, durable products in the 1,000-2,000 yuan price range, leading competitors to follow suit. The cumulative sales volume has exceeded 15 million units, still ranking first in this price range.
